BBT not rising like usual

Hi ladies, I’m hoping there are some fellow BBT charters who can help me. I have fairly regular 27 day cycles and have been charting for a few months (and charted on my last pregnancy 5 years ago).

I usually get a clear shift at ovulation along with the usual signs (ewcm, bloating, cramps). But this month there hasn’t really been a temp shift. I got all the usual symptoms at CD14-15 but temps haven’t changed much. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m concerned I won’t be able to pinpoint an ovulation day.

I’ve attached my chart for info

@vitahelp Ive just begun charting so not hugely experienced, but look at graphs often because of my job. IMHO the temp rises are there. Not by a massive amount, but your temp has spiked. I'd continue temping and see if there is a pattern. Good luck

Thanks @NatGee I agree that there is a rise, I just wish it was clearer when I ovulated so I could figure out if I DTD on the right days.

I was also hoping to stop charting as soon as I o'd this cycle because I got a bit obsessive in the 2WW last time and was overthinking all the temps! But I might have to carry on a few days longer so I can see if it did eventually rise.

I hope things are going well for you and you are identifying some patterns.

That's really frustrating :( I'd assume you ovulated on CD11 from the slight rise after, but I'm totally in the same boat with my temps, and although a sharper rise after potential ovulation, they're not rising above 36.3 which is low for post ovulation temps... I'll attach mine below.

So confusing :(

@Flowersflowers121 I'm sorry to hear you're in the same boat. Have you been charting long, and do you usually have a clearer pattern?
I wondered if the hot weather was skewing mine...as my pre-ovulation temps this month are higher than usual which seemed odd. I really hope I didn't ovulate on CD11 as it means we wouldn't have got DTD timing right and would be very confusing when it is usually CD15! I'm honestly hoping my thermometer is dodgy (cheap one from amazon!)

@vivitahelp this is my first month tracking, annoyingly, so I don't have anything to compare it to! :(

I was hoping the heat was messing with it too, so let's hope so haha

There's another dip and a rise on yours around CD14 too, so hopefully it was then instead? I hate when your cycles don't do as you expected haha. Do you test your LH levels at all or not bother?

vitahelp · 12/08/2022 19:41

@Flowersflowers121 Yes fingers crossed it’s the heat! I’m going to take temp in the morning then I don’t think I’ll do it again this cycle. I just really hope it’s a bit higher tomorrow then there’s some reassurance that I did ovulate at some stage.
No I’ve not been doing LH testing, have you? I did it with my first but found them a bit annoying to do so decided not to this time. I kind of wish I had now though!!
