Lubricants and ttc

Hello! Me and my partner have begun trying for a baby and I want to ensure our lubricant isn't harming our chances. We currently use pjur woman nude which is great, no silicones, no phosphates and all that bad stuff. But it isn't specifically ttc lube. I've struggled with lubricants and irritation and this is one I can use happily. Are there certain ingredients I should be looking out for when it comes to lube? Does it matter that much or can I stick with my usual? I'd love to hear your experiences! Thankyou 😊

Thats a great question. Lots of people swear by Preseed as it is meant to aid conception because lots of other lubricants have some levels of spermicide in them
I was going to try using coconut oil but apparently the jury is out there: some say its OK but Ive read that its anti microbial properties may hinder sperm motility
Good luck

@NatGee thanks for your reply! There's so much information out there isn't there 🤦‍♀️ yes I've read a lot about pre-seed I think I'll be buying some for next month! Thank-you and good luck to you x

I used pre seed until I read the ingredients, it's got parabens in it for one and I stopped using it and started using olive oil. As far as I could tell from my research no lubricant can really aid conception, it's more that you're not using anything that would harm the sperm but they still have to do the hard work, that's what I found when I looked into it.

@Rowen32 thanks for that tid bit of info, I was really in two minds about whether to get preseed. In between the pregnancy tests, OPKs, seminogram and various other contraptions I am at risk of spending a small fortune.

@isitaline97 yeah there is loads. I look at the info about coconut oil with a bit of scepticism. One post I read from a doctor advised the following, this is a word for word copy

"Better not to use coconut oil or any other oil.
Use KY JELLY if at all.
If trying for pregnancy, do not use any artificial lubricant"
