Advice on 1-2 weeks clear blue

I have found out I am 1-2 weeks pregnant on clear blue test on Monday 8/08/22

My last period was 11/07/2022

On the 21/07/2022
I slept with guy 1

On 28/07/2022 I slept with guy 2
30/07/2022 I slept with guy 2 again

Does anyone have any understanding on who the father could be by the dates and the clear blue being 1-2 weeks

It's a mess and I'm really stressed out
I have an abortion booked on Monday because I don't know for certain who father could be and I am hoping for it to be guy 2 is this too close together to hope for guy 2 ?

Guy 2 seems closer to predicted ovulation since last period, however did you use any protection with either of them and are your periods usually regular.

Did your last period start on 11/07/2022? It's difficult to say without knowing your average cycle length etc.

Based on a 'standard' 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14, the 21st would have been CD11 (which is in the fertile window before ovulation on CD14). The 28th and 30th would have been CD18 and CD20, which is well past ovulation and much more unlikely.

The reality is, though, that unless you know your cycle length and have an educated prediction on when you ovulated, it could be either.

24 days cycle

29days cycle

So Google says because I have had 2 cycles that are 27 days

My cycle length is 27 days

Clear blue come back 1-2 weeks
Matching back to guy 2

If it was guy 1 I am assuming the test would say
2-3 weeks

Yes my period was on 11/07/2022

And my cycle lists I've listed on the thread 27 days Google is saying average

No, not necessarily. This works if you have. 28 day cycle, know exactly that you ovulated on day 14, and that you implanted right away.

realistically, it’s not unusual to be up to a week behind that timeline. I’ve been pregnant several times and each time I’ve had an early scan it’s measured a few days behind, and the OB explained that this is due to longer cycle, sperm can live inside you for up to 5 days, ovulating later than day 14, implanting on day 10 instead of day 6.

Guy 1 is more likely with this in mind. Sorry. Only one way to know for definite though.

Clear blue digital only give you the weeks based on HCG levels. This can also vary massively from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy. It can show progression as HCG rises, but again the weeks indicator is based on averages and is still approximate, not exact.

What is making this worse is I've spoken to guy 1 he knows I'm pregnant he said he didn't cum inside of me And in my trousers

I got a 1-2 result and a 2-3 result from the same sample of urine. The weeks indicator is really, really not to be relied upon.

Do you think a scan could be more accurate on the age and conception dates

This early a scan wouldn’t show anything, just a space for the pregnancy. Dating scans around 12 weeks are more accurate but then you still have the cycle length, ovulation, implantation variance - with such a slim margin really the only certainty would be DNA test.

With a 27 day regular cycle, I'd be more inclined to think the first person is the father. That's purely guesswork based on the limited information we have though.

The bottom line is that there's no way of knowing. A dating scan at 12 weeks will refine the conception window according to the baby's growth and size; but obviously that is a long time to wait if you're still considering termination based upon who the father may be, and possibly not the best reason to keep a pregnancy going, for your sake as much as anyone else's.

The only way to know with any certainty would be a DNA test once the baby is born.

I really think your focus now ought to be on getting some advice and guidance around whether this is what you want, and something you're ready for?

Based on 27 day max cycle I would say guy 1 too I’m afraid. Guy 2 was CD18 and CD20 so I would imagine on a 27 day cycle that would have been too late for your ovulation. Not impossible if you have a very short Luteal Phase but chances are it would have been guy 1 as when you had sex with him would have likely been in your fertile time asked on your cycle length.

It’s all based on when you actually ovulated though and there’s a chance it could be either depending on the ovulation date. A 12 week scan will narrow it down a bit more but it’s still not exact. A DNA test would be the only way.

I'm not sure if this really helps at all because everyone's cycles are very different however I had my lmp on 11/7 and I ovulated on 27th July so I think I would go with guy 2. The only way to know for sure would be a dna test I would think

@mummatara how long are your cycles? Reason a lot of us are thinking guy 1 is because OP cycles are only average 27 days sometimes shorter so if the ovulation was that late it would give her a very short LP (around 8 days or less) whereas guy 1 would be easily in her fertile time.

it is possible to be either though as some people do have a very short LP

@allgoodthings84 my cycles range between 24 and 31 days but I always have a LP of 11 days. I would have been on a 28 day cycle this month but got a BFP so it never arrived.

Sorry but I think it’s more likely to be guy one. Like others have said though no way of knowing for sure without a DNA test, it’s just to close to call. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Update I had my scan today for the abortion

They can't find the baby
They said I am less that 5 weeks pregnant by last period

And I shall go back in 10 days

Is this meaning I conceived later and could potentially be guy 2

it looks like they just meant it was less than 5 weeks since your last period started so too early to see the baby yet for either guy. They date a pregnancy at the beginning from first day of last period.

it honestly could be either one of them there’s so many variables and every woman and cycle is different.

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. I really hope you have some real life support?

Your last period was exactly 5 weeks ago and these were both after that so conception for both would be less than 5 weeks. From what they have said you can’t tell which one.
