Hi can I have some advice please? I should be starting ivf around 15th Sept (private) however I’m booked to go on an all inc holiday on 01st sept just for a week.

Im not a big drinker anyway…but do you think one glass of wine per day would be ok or do you think it’s a no alcohol at all?

it will be my first time going through IVF. 15th sept would be day 1 of my cycle.

thanks for the advice!

You'll be absolutely grand to have a drink , you drink so little anyway .
I didn't stop drinking until I started the meds .

Thank you. How was your ivf cycle?

It was years and years ago now.
Physically I was okay. Actually if I could give you any advice it would be to avoid constipation in the days before egg collection ,the drug regime caused it at that exact time. With subsequent treatments I knew to counteract that side effect.
The egg collection will be manageable, you'll have sedation ( if in UK) but don't be panicked at the pain afterwards. Have some pain relief ready , it won't be so sore the following day.
Stock up on shopping beforehand and get plenty of rest.

Yip go and enjoy your holiday. I drank right up till I started stims. Now have a one year old from said cycle.

Yes wouldn’t worry at all - my IVF baby is a teenager now but I certainly had a few drinks in the run up. In fact it was September 16 years ago that I started my cycle, while on holiday!

opinions and recommedantions vary. Asking your doc or clinic might be a safer option.
