Co-op acutest reliability?

Hi everyone,

looking for advice on the reliability of the co-op acutest. I had ivf last cycle which sadly failed (bHCG was 4). I had a period which started on the 11th July, totally normal.

fast forward 4 weeks and I thought AF is due around today and I just felt off, I was also meant to spend today at a spa. on a whim I took a test (pic attached) with FMU.

the second test pic is from a couple of hours later.

I’m in shock, having had to have IVF to conceive in the past this just seems crazy. So tell me, can I trust these?

Congratulations I would say that’s a clear positive

doodlywoodlydingdong · 09/08/2022 17:40

That's pretty positive to me! Congratulations 🎉

lillipilli · 09/08/2022 17:41

I’ve never used it but it does look clearly positive!

reddyeddy · 09/08/2022 19:05

That is the most positive positive I've seen in a long old while 🥰 get yourself another test to reassure yourself but.... congratulations 😍

Thanks guys, I did another one this afternoon… looks the same as the other two from this morning.

panicking now as we’ve been on holiday for the last 10 days and I’ve been drinking everyday (not drunk but a few drinks), hot baths, lifting and carrying, hiking up hills with a toddler on my back, caffeine… everything I would avoid when doing ivf!

@Happycroc I wonder if I should start doing all of that again...

Happycroc · 09/08/2022 19:32

3.5years of secondary infertility (dieting/ non drinking etc), ivf to conceive DC, one failed ivf in Feb, a hysteroscopy under general anaesthetic in May, another failed IVF in July. Falling off the wagon with a huge thud and now this!

@Happycroc hmm soooo are you happy?
I am happy for you :)

Happycroc · 09/08/2022 19:45

Thank you so much @NatGee x

Delighted, super anxious, and it hasn’t really sunken in. Trying not to worry myself into a state about all the wrong things I’ve done.

@Happycroc if it makes you feel any better I went on a hen weekend in Spain for 3 days, got absolutely battered on the first night (out until 6am) and then when I returned to the uk had a couple of bottles of wine a couple of days later for our anniversary.

That Friday I found out I was 5 weeks pregnant!
Baby is fine though so I wouldn't worry too much! As long as you're not drinking now of course :)

Congratulations! 🤍

NatGee · 09/08/2022 20:19

@Happycroc whatever youve done it worked! My DH reminded me the other day when i got worried for the same reasons: think of all the women who fall and have no idea and carry on partying, drinking, eating to find out only once they get symptoms which can be pretty late down the line. The vast majority of those are born without problems. So dont worry, you didn't know. Chances are, itll be fine. Xx

Happycroc · 09/08/2022 21:29

@2020firsttimemum exactly that! Thank you! I had a tonic tonight! Now I have to hide not drinking from the family and extended family were holidaying with until Saturday!

indeed @NatGee can’t take it back now, what will be will be I suppose!

I’ll be spending the next few days/ weeks trying to maintain a zen like state!!! Fingers crossed this is a resilient and sticky one!

Confirmation in words (and some fancy antique wallpaper from the holiday cottage)

having spoken with the ivf clinic they said there is no possibility that this is from the failed cycle in June/ July and most certainly a new (natural) pregnancy

still can’t get my head around it but haven’t had much time to process being on holiday with 14 of my DH’s family!
