ds is 6 months and we are TTC a 2nd. this is first month and i dont know if i really want to be successful or not!! well i would be delighted if i did get pg but then go "oh shit what have i done?!" i know it would be hard being pg and looking after a baby.

it took 15 months last time and i am nearly 34 so no real point in wasting time. am desparate for ds not to be an only child and i am broody again already when i see tiny babies.

so who else is out there TTC??

We have been trying for 6mths for no 2. I got pregnant straight away last time so I'm a bit that it's taking longer this time particularly as I'm 37, soon to be 38.

You're very keen if your DS is 6mths, I waited until DS was 16mths and now I'm worried that I left it too long because its taking longer but I am enjoying being back at work and DS getting that bit older.
Good luck with TTC

Hi, am I trying for nunber 2 too! We have a dd who is 3.3 and have been trying for 17 months for number 2 - we unfortunately had an ectopic 14 months ago though. I am 35. I am going to see the gp on Tuesday to start looking into fertility treatments. Fingers crossed.

go for it - it's lovely having children close together in age - hard work but great fun! I hope you are succesful quickly.

Me too and it isn't going well Ds is 2.7 and was conceived on the first try. But since then dh's health has got even worse, my luteal phase looks short and of course we've got older. It seems like a recipe for disaster. I'm even jealous of my little bro, who is about to adopt number 3 slightly against his will (has two kids who are biological siblings, was offered the third, initially turned him down but has now decided to go for it). Even knowing the heartache they've endured from years of ttc and then the horror of adoption, I'm sad it isn't us.

We're barely in a situation where we can try to conceive, if you know what I mean. We basically have a maximum of one shot per cycle and the odds are not good.

Hi there ladies, sorry for gate crashing, but I can highly recommend a book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It is very informative and shows you how to chart your cycle, and more importantly why you are recording certain things. It's also great at trouble shooting (leutal phases/pcos/irregular cycle etc)

Good luck xx

I am. DD is 14 months and it happened straight away. Now, I'm nearly 36 and we've gone 3 cycles it looks like. Trying to stay calm but you do hear a lot about 'secondary infertility' etc. Feel really in limbo as can't really make long term decisions about job, home, money et as feel like we're just waiting. Heigh ho. There are a lot of us sitting on another thread by the way!

MummyAnnabella · 20/01/2008 20:09

oh will have to find the other thread too!

am a bit nervous reading your messages as i too have lots of friends with secondary infertility and that is why i dont want to hang about as you never know. thats why i think well if i start now even it takes a year then that is okay so it be would be funny if it did happen right away.

i also have fibroids which i think is why ds 1 took 15 months so i have to factor that in.

fingers crossed for you all.
