Hello.
I’m new here, but I’m driving myself crackers and I don’t feel I can talk about this with my nearest and dearest.
I’ve had a 26 day menstrual cycle since my periods started, even several years of oral contraception didn’t change this. I’ve been off the contraception a few months, and again it’s been 26 days like clockwork.
I know I ovulated in July - I used Clear Blue Advanced and got the flashing smiley faces on 26th and 27th, and the solid smiley face from 28th, and my partner and I had sex a number of times that week.
I’ve now started bleeding, and everything about it says it’s a period - bright red, moderate flow, a few minor stomach cramps. My period isn’t due until 12th August, but I know if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s probably a duck.
I’m confused about how it’s biologically possible that it’s come early, and why, and of course sad that it’s another month of not being pregnant.
I’m sorry to offload, but can anyone share any wisdom? Is it normal for my period to come this early when I only ovulated 9-10 days ago, and I’ve always had periods like clockwork?
