Will lube hurt our chances?

Me and DH just started TTC last week. We DTD last Wed and thu (pretty sure ovulated thu). Now I'm worried because we used KY water based lube both times we've ruined our chance this month. Am I being silly? I've read somewhere it 'kills sperm!' 😭

I don’t know about it killing sperm. I conceived all mine with lube - but I’ve never used KY, just ordinary Superdrug lube.
If you have ‘ruined your chances’ - which I think is unlikely - there’s always next month. I conceived one of mine in the first month but it’s hardly a given. Another took 2 months and the last one took 13 months. No idea why the last one took so long, didn’t do anything differently and I wasn’t that much older, the age gap between them isn’t huge. Chances are it will take you more than one month anyway so no point getting hung up on it.

In my experience I think it does dramatically decrease chances. We used it for 6 months of conceiving until I copped on that it had an adverse effect, we stopped and TA-DA pregnant lol

This is just from my experience of course, I think you can get some pretty good fertility friendly lube on the market

I don’t know about KY jelly, but most lubes contain spermicides, but there are some lubes that are specifically designed to be used when trying to conceive.

Try pre-seed lubricant. It's made to mimic your cervical mucus at ovulation. We've used it both times to conceive.

We also used Pre-Seed lube
