@EdinburghGirl1 hoping this bleed is the start of it properly xx

LuckyMoonstone · 06/08/2022 20:07

@My2boysaremyworld it’s rubbish, but I hope you feel ok and can take a deep breath and move on xx we can only go forwards

Derinsea12 · 06/08/2022 20:40

Hi everyone,

This is my 2nd cycle TTC and 1DPO today.

I’m 35 and just recently started thinking/wanting of welcoming a little one to our small family ā˜ŗļø

Last month was my first try and it was a bit crazy. I was getting myself up to speed with everything(TWW, OPK, hormones etc) šŸ˜… Without realising, I started overanalysing, symptom spotting and counting the hours. Weirdly enough I got all the right symptoms and nothing happened.

Luckily I am aware of it now, so I am not going to fall into that this month. I will probably ignore most of the symptoms caused by hormones and just wait until 8-9DPO to test.

Good luck everyone ā˜ŗļø

My2boysaremyworld · 06/08/2022 20:53

@LuckyMoonstone thank you, suffering bad at the minute with the pain. It's crap being a woman xx

Missgemini · 07/08/2022 00:38

@My2boysaremyworld phew! Glad it’s finally come to an end. Good luck with the next cycle!
Would you consider testing for ovulation in this coming cycle?

@Derinsea12 welcome! You become so much more aware of your body during TTC. It’s crazy!
Im also 2nd cycle and had some serious lower abdominal pain last cycle. I was absolutely convinced I was pregnant. Obviously BFN in the end!
Having some twinges and other symptoms now too (5dpo) and just telling myself they don’t mean anything. Only the test will tell us for sure!

mamazac · 07/08/2022 06:58

Morning ladies,

12dpo here today and got a faint line on an frer, not getting my hopes up as been stung before with an FRER!

Pictures taken at 5 and 10 mins, took a few minutes to show

Hoping for BFP August/September

NatGee · 07/08/2022 08:26

@Derinsea12 welcome :) lets hope this cycle is the one! xx

Purple29 · 07/08/2022 09:05

BFN for me and started with the cramps so guessing AF is on her way.... I just knew I wouldn't be lucky. Just feel so let down by my body.... starting to feel its never gonna happen!!!

Missgemini · 07/08/2022 09:07

@mamazac it’s really difficult to see from the picture, but I guess it should start to get darker in the next coming days so should photograph better. Good luck!

Missgemini · 07/08/2022 09:08

@Purple29 so sorry to hear that. How frustrating!
How many cycles are you on now?

Purple29 · 07/08/2022 09:55

@Missgemini we started trying for #2 in September. Found out in Dec we were expecting, it was ectopic unfortunately. I would have been 39 weeks tomorrow 😭 when we were ttc our son it took 2 years, then he was born 10 weeks early.Just feel my body continuously let's me down!!!

My2boysaremyworld · 07/08/2022 10:14

@Missgemini yes I'm going to track ovulation this cycle hopefully then I know if and when I ovulated xx

Tropicana1 · 07/08/2022 10:16

@mamazac I can't see anything I don't think in the 5min one, maybe a very very faint grey line in the 10 min one? But if that's after the time limit then it's not a valid reading. Hopefully more visible in real life, fingers crossed!

@Purple29 sorry af arrived and you're feeling so disheartened, it's rubbish isn't it. Must be extra hard with your approaching due date from your ectopic, sending hugs! X

BFN cheapie 9dpo today.
Don't know why I do this to myself, didn't get a positive until 11dpo with my daughter but still I early test 🤣

Derinsea12 · 07/08/2022 10:22

@Missgemini Yes absolutely, it is almost impossible not to be aware of all the symptoms. I also had some stabbing/sharp pain on the lower abdomen during the first cycle and convinced myself that I am pregnant. However now looking back, the reason probably was bloating/gas caused by hormonal changes.

I agree, 5DPO might still be a little bit early for reading into the symptoms I think, so yes, I would at least wait until Wed/Thursday to do so 😊As I kept reading everywhere that all the pregnancy symptoms are the same as our menstrual cycle. Timing also overlaps, so it's almost impossible to differentiate unless there is a little white strip in your hand lol.

If I had to take one theory that I can test this month is I would see If the symptoms are actually still there after 10DPO. Because in my experience I noticed all the cramps, bloating, mood swings, fatigue, nausea had disappeared on 10-11DPO then on the 14DPO I got my period spotting. I wondered why that is and looked it up and found this: " In a menstrual cycle when pregnancy doesn't occur, the corpus luteum stops working, which causes progesterone levels to drop sharply. Usually around four days before a period begins, the level of progesterone is back down to the level it was at for the first phase of the cycle."

I know it might not work for some people, it would probably work better if cycle start date is pretty solid. I will see and share my updates if that works this time as well.

@NatGee Thank you, hopefully that's the right month for us! Until last month, I didn't know it will require that much effort & time tbh, I always used protection etc and scared that if not, I would get pregnant straight away lol. I had been so naive about it. After hearing and reading everyone's story(maybe finally paying enough attention) now I know šŸ˜…

@Purple29 Sorry to hear that you are feeling let down by your body. I am familiar with that feeling(from experiencing a health issue last year) and it is a difficult one. How long have you been trying?

Derinsea12 · 07/08/2022 10:34

@Purple29 Oh sorry to hear that. It sounds really tough. Sending love and hugs xx
How old is your son now? 😊

Purple29 · 07/08/2022 11:12

@Derinsea12 hes 2 and a half now. We started trying in sept for #2. Not that long but long enough!! So disheartening sometimes.

Missgemini · 07/08/2022 11:14

@Purple29 such a rough ride you’ve had. I’m so sorry to hear about the ectopic. The unknowns of TTC can be so heartbreaking. Wishing you a BFP soon!

@Derinsea12 that’s such an interesting theory. There could be some truth to it. The horrible tummy cramps I had last cycle did disappear at around the 10dpo mark. Should be interesting to see what happens this cycle. 5dpo currently.

Derinsea12 · 07/08/2022 12:32

@Purple29 @Purple29 Aww bless him, he must be adorable šŸ˜

It is indeed disheartening sometimes. It is also frustrating that we don't have that much control over our bodies so it is doing its thing and we can only wait, make observations and maybe draw some conclusions(not necessarily right ones).

Sadly, time to time we experience some difficult stuff that makes us question our bodies and their support for us. But that is a part of the human experience I suppose and that feeling would be there time to time, but knowing it is an incredible living machine, working non-stop, supporting us in every minute, every experience we are having, we can always repair the relationship we have with it. That was my learning from my experience last year anyway. Sharing it with hope it might offer some compassion & hope when feeling let down or disappointed by our bodies in the process of TTC.

mamazac · 07/08/2022 14:15

@Tropicana1 @Missgemini

Thanks for your replies! It's definitely got pink to it in real life but I'm not putting much hope into it as it just doesn't feel right tbh. Will try and get some more tests on my way home but unlikely to be a FRER. We'll see! X

mamazac · 07/08/2022 16:06

tested when I got home with a sainsburys test and got this..

Hoping for BFP August/September
Derinsea12 · 07/08/2022 16:31

@mamazac I can definitely see a faint line on this one!
It is more likely to get darker in the coming days so it's exciting!
Fingers crossed šŸ˜

Can you check how sensitive the Sainsbury's test? It might be less sensitive compared to First response.I would probably get a First response one to see the progression on Monday or Tuesday.

LuckyMoonstone · 07/08/2022 17:39

@mamazac I can see it!!

Missgemini · 07/08/2022 21:59

@mamazac I see it too!!!

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 07/08/2022 22:00

@mamazac I see it too on that test! Goodluck! Hope it gets darker for you xx

CD5 for me. AF still hanging about but slowing down now. Camping from tomorrow so don't expect much DTD this coming week leading up to ovulation.

OP posts:
EdinburghGirl1 · 08/08/2022 06:38

@mamazac I see it in that last test as well.

CD4 for me and AF has now pretty much finished. Seem to have very short ones since coming off pill which I'm not complaining about.

@BellaTheDarkOverlord enjoy your camping trip. Weather looks lovely gif this week. Where are you going? If I ovulate CD11 like last month then I'll be hitting fertile window later this week so need get some BD in
