Day 21 bloods help

I’ve been away from the forum for a bit while I have investigations as I’ve been trying for number 2 for a while and we’ve been unsuccessful.

anyway I’ve had reems of bloods done all come back ok but my day 21 progesterone has come back at 16. The GP has marked this as satisfactory the receptionist told me, it’s only because I checked my record I realised, even underneath the result it states Progesterone greater than 30
is consistent with ovulation.

so ladies she’d some light on this for me? Does 16 mean I have ovulated? Or not at all?

@ANP2020 if taken on the right day, 16 is too low to suggest ovulation occurred. 30 is really baseline minimum and really, lots of doctors prefer to see above 38. Could you perhaps have had the bloods taken not 6-8 days before you period was due?

Hi lovely, cycle day 21 only works if your period is 28-30 days! Any idea how many days your cycle was that month?X

Hey guys thanks for replying! So my cycles are 28 days bang every month but I don’t ovulate (according to OPKs and ewcm etc) until CD 19 so I think I have a short luteal phase. So if I’m right these bloods were taken only 2-3 days after ovulation so ? Too early?

im frustrated as my Gp has marked them as satisfactory no further action so I’ve just rung and left a message to ask her to review it. I’m wondering if I need to check on like CD 26?

@ANP2020 hey lovely yeah I'd say that's too soon! I paid to go private and have mine done / My cycle was 28 days and I got a result back of 46, but I ovulated CD 13, I'd say to them you want it retested 7/8 days after confirmed peak! Xx

Thanks, I’ve left a message for the GP so I’ll see what they come back with and if Ill book them on CD 26/ 27 and see if that’s any better! Thanks so much. I’ve a fertility referral pending so I’m sure they’ll look at it all anyway but I’d like to know I’m ovulating x

No problem :) you should get offered a scan soon, transvaginal one so they can see what's going on xx
