Hi all,

So my partner and I have been ttc for 7 months now. I came off contraception at the end of December. I have had a blood test with suspected PCOS, I have another at the end of next week and awaiting an ultrasound (12 week wait 😫) I have been told that women with PCOS can conceive naturally and is usually around 12 months like other women ttc. I was just wondering if anyone on here is in the same boat or has PCOS and can shed how long it took them. It seems like forever! Since coming off my piil i have had a period every month. My cycle seems to be about 29 days. I am also doing the clear blue digital 6 day plus ovulation tests and seem to be ovulating! Whether it is a false alarm or not I dont know. I have bought some conceive plus ovulation support in hope they help too. Has anyone used these?

Thanks ❤❤

Hi @Dimps92 I have PCOS. I came off the pill in December 2012, our Ds was born in April 2016.
We started trying again when he was two. No luck this time for us.
I hope it happens for you soon.

Have you had your thyroid tested? I struggled TTC and assumed it was my PCOS but then had my thyoid tested and it was underactive, apparently people with PCOS quite often also have underactive thyroid. Anyway after 6 weeks on thyroxine I got pg…

Hi, I have pcos. I came off contraception in early 2012 and didn't fall pregnant until 2016. This was only after a series of tests/scans etc to determine if I ovulate or not. I wasn't ovulating. After months of waiting for referrals and tests I was put on clomid and Metformin to see if that would help. It did and I now have a 5 year old. I've been TTC again since 2018 with no luck 😔. I've always been told that cysters can conceive easily and I know loads that have done! We don't all have the same symptoms/issues. If after a year you don't conceive and if you meet the criteria you are eligible to receive assistance trying to conceive..I'm sorry probably not what you wanted to hear, but there is support out there.

Wishing you lots of luck!

I have PCOS and have fairly long cycles that can vary slightly. It look me over a year to conceive naturally x

Thank you all ❤ I had my 30th birthday this year so hoping this wont make much difference being 'the older side' as some have put it 🤦🏽‍♀️ i had an ultra sound 6 years ago as PCOS was suspected then but they saw no cysts and left it at that and said some back when youre ttc. So frustrating! Has anyone got any tips?

Was your ultrasound done when you were on hormonal contraception? I had the same, no cysts found. Dr shrugged it off and said well you probably haven't got pcos cos you're not overweight. I knew something wasn't right though. Then came off the pill and cycles were irregular and had another scan and there were cysts. Diagnosed with pcos finally!

I had my first in 2019 and conceived on my 2nd cycle. Now TTC #2. I was 30 when I had my first also, it's not on the old side at all! Good luck and hope you get some insight.

I found going dairy free helped me manage my symptoms, especially my acne. I was sceptical but gave it a go for 3 months and it helped a lot. It doesn't work for everyone though. Also myo-inositol is supposed to help, especially to make cycles more regular.

Yes, ultrasound was done when on contraception a few years back. Now have to wait 12 weeks to have another one. Have you been trying for baby number 2 for long? Thank you I hope I do too, its the unknown thats the worst. I dont have much dairy to be honest anyway and I dont have many symptoms of PCOS so kind of lucky in that sense. I have bought some conceice plus ovulation support which i believe has myo-inositol in it. Hoping this will help!

No, this is only cycle #2 so far. In the TWW now! But I'm now 34 so I'm expecting this time may take longer plus DH had covid in this cycle.

Sorry to hear you've got such a long wait for your ultrasound. Good to get the ball rolling now though so if you end up at 12 months TTC you can get support a bit quicker with an existing diagnosis.

I have PCOS and could be 5/6months without a period. I read it's starts with the egg, took TONNES of vitamins, it was an expensive regime! Had 6 rounds of clomid with no luck, about to start to IVF and fell pregnant naturally, it did take us 2 years 10 months though! He is our little miracle, 4 months old tomorrow! I also lost about 2stone in weight from the January and fell pregnant in the July, was around 12 and half stone and got down to 10 stone 8 (as condescending as the Doctor's are about weight and PCOS I do actually feel this gave us the luck at the end!)

Yes this is what I thought and my current doctor is keen to help so this makes it all better ❤

It's nice you fell naturally before the IVF! Would you like to have more? Aw cute! Happy 4 months!

I am 11st3 at 5ft7'', I have gained weight over the past year as I was 10st5. Currently trying to shift the weight I put on and get down to 10st. Maybe this may help too!

I turned 30 2 weeks before he was due, and given how long it took us I don't want to set my heart on having more, but I do have pang for him not to be an 'only' but more for him than me! If that makes sense! Life will have a plan for us I am sure!

Best of luck on your journey! It's hard, stressful and very often sad and lonely but I really hope yours plans out like ours did!

Hi girls, I'm also on ttc journey for our #1 and was diagnosed with pcos a few years ago when periods were very irregular (longest without was 3 months + had one or two extremely painful). My weight is regular but they confirmed I had some cysts and testosterone was very slightly high.
Am moving onto 3rd month ttc and the evidence is worrying me quite a lot. Recently my cycles have varied from 29-36 days and bbt last month did show temp spike although not sure if this completely confirms ovulation or not 🤔Anyhow sending lots of luck to you all for this cycle! 🍀
