I'm really new to TTC and feeling a little overwhelmed. I didn't track my ovulation this month, was hoping to start next month after doing a bit of research.

It's been 8 days since I last had unprotected sex with my husband and I'm 4 days away from my period. I'm really feeling quite off, I had light watery pink spotting yesterday and it's now brown light spotting today. I have pinching / poking pains on one side of my abdomen and I feel so nauseous and tired. I've gone off food which is completely unlike me.

I don't know if I'm going mad, whether I could actually be pregnant? But I'm scared I'm getting my hopes up and it'll all amount to nothing. Any advice or anything would be much appreciated, I don't really have anyone to discuss this with.

Thank you.

Of course you could be pregnant! I got my positive test this morning at 9 days past ovulation. You can buy a first response if you want, as they’re good for testing early, however if you have the willpower to hang on you can take any test if you miss the first day of your period. 🤞🏻 good luck!

Oh thank you so much. I've been googling all day and just have no idea what to expect. I'm hoping I can hold on a few more days and see if my period is late but I'm very impatient!! Fingers crossed, thank you :)

@PotatoPiee could well be an early pregnancy, fingers crossed that it is! My advice is, and I know It’s so hard to do, but try to resist the rollercoaster! For me that was about measuring everything, having lots of cheap pregnancy tests to hand, but accepting that even very healthy couples with no fertility issues take an average 12 months to conceive. Took me a long while but happened very quickly once I used the Mira ovulation kit- Mira ovulation kit it’s expensive but a lot less expensive than IVF.
I used other cheaper methods before but actually I realised that I had been making some mistakes about my ovulation window using less precise methods. The other thing no one tells you is sometimes when you test early you can get a faint positive, but then it does implant properly and you just end up getting your period a few days later than usual. Doesn’t happen to everyone but it happened to me and a few women I know, so be prepared for that possibility.
Good luck! It’s an exciting/emotional time- but once it happens and you’re a few months in you’ll probably forget about the highs and lows of TTC.

I had the exact same symptoms with my first!

Sadly AF arrived today, a day earlier than expected. I've bought ovulation tests for this month, just wondering when I should start these? My cycles have been irregular since coming off the pill, theyve been 26, 34, 29 and 27. Thanks. 😊

If you have varying cycle lengths, I'd start testing with OPK's from CD8. You can usually spot a pattern after a few months and then start testing a little later in your cycle. My cycles range from 22 - 29 days. The earliest I ovulated was CD10 and the latest was CD14. Good luck!
