Twins

I have a question for anyone with twins. Sorry for the long post, So every month I always know exactly when I ovulate because I get ovulation pain and then I confirm ovulation with opks and I've never been wrong, I've been pregnant 3 times including this one and also knew exactly when I've implanted as I test excessively (it's stupid I know 🤦🏼‍♀️) and always get a positive 3 days after I feel implantation, this month I swear I felt ovulation in both ovaries and then felt like I had implantation pain 24 hours apart first time on the left then on the right so on both sides, I've only ever had it on one side for not long at all so I'm wondering if maybe 2 eggs have implanted? Did anyone with twins feel like they could feel implantation twice? I'm probably just over thinking but I'm just curious, we'd be happy with however many this pregnancy gives us

Not sure this is relevant at all but I had a miscarriage earlier this year and have heard you can be more likely to have multiples after a miscarriage but have no idea if that's true

Following this - I had ovulation pain in both sides this month, wondered if that does increase chance of twins!

Georgia2609 · 29/07/2022 20:31

@xttcbabyno1x hopefully someone will give us their experience, I'm very interested In knowing

I had an ovulation bleed on the month I had the twins, they both came out off the same side as I only have one ovary.

Sorry doesn't answer your question but I did suspect I might have released two eggs and was obviously right!

Hi - I have two set of fraternal B/B twins. I have never known when I ovulated or when implantation occurred and didn't even know that was a thing. LOL Although I have never tested ovulation or anything prior to a pregnancy test. Twins are so much fun (although I have a singleton - my first) and he is great too. I wish you a happy, healthy pregnancy.

I used to have ovulation pain in both ovaries and my doctor (male) told me that I must be imagining it! However, a quick google search has shown that it is possible. I had the odd ovarian cyst though, so maybe the pain was from a cyst rather than ovulation.

@momtoboys I always find it so crazy how every woman's body is so different, I've felt every single month I've ovulated for years lol and the months I didn't feel it I didn't ovulate! We have one little boy too and this would be our second (and maybe third lol!) Was there a big difference having two rather than one?

@anderosonnmj of course it was a man telling you things about ovulation 🙄 I've been told by my doctor it is possible to ovulate from both ovaries, it's called hyper ovulation but it's not common. I usually only feel it one side but felt it both this month

@yummyscummymummy01 how crazy that you knew you ovulated from both!

@yummyscummymummy01 I meant to say that you knew you ovulated two from the same side 🤦🏼‍♀️

As far as the pregnancies themselves there was no big difference. I actually gained more weight with my first single birth than I did with either of my twins pregnancies. Unfortunately I ended up with C sections for all of them so I did not get the natural birth experience. I will tell you that going from 1 child to three was an adjustment. My DH and I were outnumbered. LOL After we got the hang of the three and the other two came along it was no big deal.

I am currently 14 weeks with twins. I know from early scans that I ovulated twice from the same side. The double ovulation showed up on LH strips because I had one peak and then lots of smaller peaks on the way down. Baffled me at first but when I found out I ovulated twice it made sense! I also had super obvious ovulation pains that month and a pushing-down pressure type pain at 2dpo (don’t know what that was as everyone says you can’t implant that early).

Randomname1234 · 30/07/2022 06:08

@momtoboys I have been freaking out about how I will cope with twins. Your post makes me feel so much better!

Kittylickingplate · 30/07/2022 06:14

I have twins and vowed and declared I ovulated twice, that month. But my twins are identical so it made no difference 😂

Georgia2609 · 31/07/2022 10:37

I took a digital and my period still isn't even due and it's reading 2-3 weeks when it should be 1-2 weeks, could that be a sign it's twins?

With my twins, I got a very strong positive a week before my period was due BUT I was told 50/50' that's a strong sign' and 'it makes no difference'

GHJ · 09/07/2023 07:24

@Georgia2609 not sure you'll see this as so long after but did you have twins? Thinking I might be experiencing similar signs at the moment re feeling ovulation possibly on both sides. Still on my tww though!

Georgia2609 · 09/07/2023 09:04

@GHJ hi! No it didn't end up being twins but I was pregnant, I'm currently sat feeding him right now so hopefully will be the same the for you 🥰
