Any ferning experts out there?

Hi, wondering if there's any ferning experts that can help me... i had some ferning on Friday and Saturday morning (day 13/14 of cycle) but to me it only looks like partial ferning, I have since had nothing, not even slight ferning! I also had no other fertile signs around those 2 days of ferning, my OPK tests were not even slightly positive. I have had extremely irregular cycles since a miscarriage in Feb so it's all a bit over the place and I don't really know what day I ovulate. Is it possible that I ovulated over those 2 days or would you expect to see more ferning?

Not an expert but have also been trying to track ferning! My cycle has been all over the place and very long, since coming off the pill a few months ago. I get mostly full ferning throughout the first part of my cycle, so haven't actually found it that useful, but I think that's a problem with my hormones, rather than the microscope!

I've attached the ferning pattern I got the day after my first positive OPK on CD29, in case that's helpful, but I would say to keep tracking but maybe confirm with an OPK/BBT if possible as the ferning results are really hard to interpret.

Hi @amyalw I'm the same, my cycles are all over the place! So hard to track anything. I would say that looks like really strong ferning on yours and matched up with your OPK so that's great!

My last cycle I got multiple positive OPKs (I use the clear blue smiley ones) throughout the month and my cycle was about 55 days so I got fed up of using those and thought I'd try ferning instead. It's so frustrating I just have no idea what's going on ever 😂

It's so frustrating isn't it. I can't believe that before starting TTC I thought I'd be really relaxed and not really bother tracking and that the ferning microscope would be just a bit of fun! And then it was beautiful, totally useless ferns everyday, and then OPKs and now a thermometer! 😂

I have just started taking some supplements, so hopefully that helps settle things down

How long have you been trying? I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage.

🤣🤣 I also do the OPK, temp and now ferning, it's literally crazy. And i must of spent hundreds of pounds of supplements and I've recently started fertility acupuncture... what is my life 🙈

If it helps my cycle was also all over the place when I came off the pill, it did settle eventually though and I got pregnant. The supplements should definitely help, I know Inositol, agnus castus and vitamin d are good x
