Premom ovulation strips

Hellooo,
I've decided to try to save some money and opt for premom OPKs and the free tracking app rather than clearblue. If I'm honest, the smiley faces flashing at me started to cheese me off 😂 !

This is my first cycle after my d&c so think I'll be POAS for the foreseeable to catch ovulation! The first time I used it the OPK score was 0.07 so low and today it rose to 0.14 still 'low' but happy it's on the rise.

Has anyone used premom strips before? Intrigued to know how many days it takes to go from low scores to high scores? Thinking we are going to try to DTD about 5days before and 2 days after ov. The thought of this is exhausting though hahaa

Worried I have in fact just replaced one obsessive (albeit cheaper) OPK obsession for another! X

It varies for everyone. I use these and my line goes from low to high to peak in less than 24 hours then back to high then low the following day so I peak quickly. Others get a slow LH rise and have a peak for a few days (ovulation should be 12-36 hours after the first peak). You won’t know what your peaks are like until you try them out 😊

My peak always sorta comes of of the blue 🤣

@allgoodthings84 ah interesting! So do you test a few times a day? I'm trying to test at about 2pm each day but wondering if I should do a few! Any excuse for more POAS obsessions hahaa!

@Harper02 love looking at these tracking photos! I'm on CD10 and before my d&c I'd ovulate around CD13/14 so going to up my testing in case I'm similar to you! Don't want to miss it

@MeganMama28 i have only done it for 2 months as was on holiday this cycle and couldn’t do it but I did once a day from day 8 then when I was still low but a higher than other days low I started twice a day. I did mine around 5pm and 7.30am as had to fit around work.

I think it was the easy at home ones I used with the pre mom app and I loved that you could scan it. I think the clear blue smileys are all just a mental thing tbh. It’s the fact you get that smiley face and it’s almost like a positive pregnancy test when all it actually means is your little pink line is darker that day 🙈 they’re kind of praying on the vulnerability of being so desperate to conceive I’d say, but there I was buying them! We did it all those days in a row, at one point on ovulation day I think we even did it twice in one day because it was almost like we are making this happen this month so we don’t have to go through this next month 😂 who knew something so fun could be so dull! I honestly think it put us off sec for most of my pregnancy so we just didn’t bother. I used pre seed and we did it so often around ovulation day but reading things now it seems that almost guarantees you a boy, which I did read at the time but was obviously delighted with whatever I got and sure enough I got a boy ☺️ I think we’ll hopefully have 3 so I’m not overly fussed what the next one is either but I think we’ll be a bit more laidback about it this time, not use preseed etc unless we’ve been trying a while just so we aren’t swaying for a boy if you get me. Some people will say that’s nonsense but I have heard it happen a lot

Hiya

I’ve been the same this month tracking with clear blue and easy@home OPK and tracking on Premom from last Wednesday I was getting flashy smiles indicating high fertility, this was continuous and I ran out test strips on Sunday still getting flashy smiles! I have just continued using easy@home to track as the cheaper option and sick of just getting the flashy faces.. this is my results from past few days.. I’m not 100% sure whether this means I’ve ovulated as I’m not sure 0.83 is high enough?

has anyone else had this similar, does this mean I have a slow LH peak ?

xx

@Goodnewsday oh interesting I didn't know that! We used preseed and did it around ovulation and sure enough we have a 2yo son as a result! Still using preseed this time as I'm rubbish at staying hydrated - not sure it provides the best environment for the swimmers 😂

We are hoping for 3 too but part of me would love this one to be a girl so there is no pressure on the third one! Tbh will just be grateful to fall pregnant at this point though.

I envy you about being laid back!! It was my aim this time but massive fail I'm already researching conception to due dates. Send help!! 😂

@Lollywhite my chart is looking similar to yours so I think we're in the slow LH peak club. I haven't reached my peak yet but think it'll be the next couple of days.

Your 0.83 line is super dark so I'd definitely say you had! Looks like we'll be testing around a similar time! x

@MeganMama28 Oh no I will totally be like that the second we start trying 😂 I said about the presses boy thing on another forum once and people were astonished that I believed it. But when you look into it online it does seem to be that the male sperm are faster and so it helps them get there quicker, especially if it’s on ovulation day. I get what you mean about hoping it’s a girl though so that if you have a third there is absolutely no preference for which you’d have. If my absolute perfect family plan went as I’d like if have a girl and find out at 16 weeks same as I did with my son then when we’d have a third I wouldn’t find out for the first time and just let them tell me when he or she arrived. That’s what Sam faiers did there and it was lovely. I also do feel like I was so lucky last time to get pregnant on the second month, have an easy pregnancy and get a healthy baby at the end that I might have used up all my luck and it could be way harder this time 🙈

Hi ladies

Hope you don't mind me jumping on this thread!

I've been using Premom now since Jan and my peak readings are always a lot higher than my 'low' readings. Here's my last 2 cycles peaks, what kind of numbers are you guys getting? Is this normal?!

Have to admit, they have really helped me to understand my cycle, even if we've not managed to conceive yet!
