Hi, I had an unplanned pregnancy (my first) in May whilst on the pill which sadly ended in miscarriage at 7.5 weeks.

My partner and I now want to TTC this month and I'm on CD6. I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips other than tracking ovulation and taking advantage of the fertile period? For example, do you have to lie still after you've DTD and if so, for how long? Or is this a myth?! Help!

Hello!

Maybe not so much tips - as I haven't conceived yet - I'm TTC no.1 first cycle... BUT I use the Flo app to track my predicted ovulation but I know it's not 100% accurate... keep an eye on discharge for ovulation, and get busy as much as you can haha! I don't make a conscious effort to lie still after, I've heard it's a myth but who knows?!

Best of luck! :)

Wouldn't say it's to much of a tip but... to DTD every other day.

To DTD whenever fertile mucus is present, regardless of what OPKs say

I've been lucky to conceive first time with both pregnancies. I just went by egg white mucus and it's served me well.

Hi @NalaNana the nurse at my GP surgery said not to worry about the lying still/legs in the air 😆 which I had been doing, so glad she told me this! She said about just DTD regularly. x

Thanks everyone! Glad to hear there's no need for the legs in the air 😂 I'll follow the tips and hope for the best! 💕

My advice would be to not follow a phone app of any description! They can be flawed and I know couples who have used it and got the ovulation dates completely wrong thus wasting upwards of 7 months!!!

Ovulation sticks are good and remember the sperm can stay in there for 5 days!

Have a lot of sex

Hi @scoobycute thanks for that tip! I’ve only been using my phone app to log AF mainly as we have tried the relaxed approach the last few months, but keen to be more ‘serious’ from September. What app would you recommend?

scoobycute · 26/07/2022 17:21

None! That's what mean by don't follow one. They're a computer at the end of the day so they can be inaccurate..the case may be that your cycle isn't always a set number of days for example and fluctuates, the computer doesn't know this, then your fertile window can be calculated incorrectly or missed.
