depends on your luck

carmenelectra · 18/01/2008 14:18

Depends! Took me a year first time(??) and second time about 3-4 mths of not really trying and i was 8 yrs older!

slinkiemalinki · 18/01/2008 21:35

Not for me - first time round again. You are still very young which will help!

beansprout · 18/01/2008 21:36

We conceived ds at the first time of asking and this one took nearly a year. Luck does come into it though!

I shall keep my fingers crossed then and hope we are lucky!!

I wondered about this as ds 9mo and i'm nearly 35 so didn't want to leave it too long in case it took ages - took 2 months last time but thought this might be a fluke.

Hi all. Interesting to find people in the same boat. Have been trying 7 months for 2nd. Starting to wonder if anything's up? Fell so easy with first babe. Got age against me too, so am worried about that. Good luck to you all. Can be difficult to stay positive sometimes i know, but our bodies pick up on the stress. We've got to enjoy the 'trying'! x

I was 26 when I fell for my second, Wasnt trying had unprotected once went to docs for morning after pill and still ended up pregnant. DC 1 was only 3 months old!!! Fell very quickly with her as well. Dh is booked in for snip, hopefully that will stop anymore DCs coming along

goodluck booty! Don't think 7 months is that long - you fill your boots!

twinklingfairy · 20/01/2008 22:52

Oh lordy, it feels like an age though. We have been ttc #2 for 7 months now as well. and we are beginning to feel a bit down about it all.
We fell with DD after our first try too. I really thought it would be that easy second time round. oh dear how wrong I was.

lucy5 · 20/01/2008 22:55

It depends, first time took me about 6 months . Second time 5 years later got pregnant on the first try. I think everybody is different.

bogie · 20/01/2008 22:58

Took me 3 months for ds 1 and 1 month to get preg this time so not always

pucca · 20/01/2008 23:01

Took longer for me to concieve second time, with dd it took 6 mths from stopping my pill, with ds it took almost a year.

alipiggie · 20/01/2008 23:02

Well took me 4 years for ds1 and 3 months for ds2 and I was in my later 30's then.

Flibbertyjibbet · 20/01/2008 23:08

Took me what felt like donkeys years of trying and m/c to have ds 1 FINALLY at 42 after we had given up.
Then DS2 came along 16 months later when I was 43! - only took two months of trying!

But my friend got pg 1st month at 38, had baby, left a years gap, thought she'd get caught as quick again, it took 18 months to get pg and she had m/c so is back trying again at 41.
I think the more you try to 'plan it' they just hide up there in your ovaries waiting till you're not paying attention then they surprise you!

Fertility treatment for DS1 after about 10 years of trying. DS2 just turned up unexpectedly about two years later. Heard loads of similar happy stories. Good luck.
