Implantation bleeding or period?

Hello! This is my first post here, sorry for any mistakes in advance.
My husband and I have been trying to conceive, however yesterday something odd happened.
I was due my period on the 14th of July, however it never came.
I took a pregnancy test the next day but it came back negative. The type of test I used was a cheap Tesco one that said it could be used from the day of your missed period.
Yesterday, July 21st, when I woke up and went to the toilet, upon wiping I was greeted by approximately a teaspoons's worth of very watery brick red blood.
For context, my periods prior to this have consistently been extremely heavy even from the first day, dark cherry red, and for a lack of a better word, meaty.
As the day progressed, the blood disappeared.
When I woke up this morning, July 22nd, there was no hint of blood at all.
However I went to the toilet at approximately 16:10, and now the brick red blood has faintly returned.
Do you think this could be implantation bleeding and that I got a false negative on the cheap pregnancy test or is it just a really weird period?
Thank you for any help and advice!

Did the bleeding come back? I would take another pregnancy test anyway

@Redhair1 Hi, the bleeding didn't come back. I'm going to get another test when we next go shopping, was just curious in the meantime :) Thank you for your response! :)

@BadDragon I would try another pregnancy test tomorrow if the bleeding doesn't get much heavier. I had implantation bleeding twice but I also had just slightly late periods that didn't start like my 'normal' periods and I was convinced it was the sign. Fingers crossed for you x

@stardust00 Awesome, thank you for your advice! I'll take another test as soon as I can :)

Hey. I hope you don’t mind me asking but what was your result here? I’m TTC after a miscarriage a couple of months ago, tested this month the day before my period was due and had a BFN but on the day my period was due had some very light bleeding which has now disappeared.

Thanks for coming back to me! Glad the tests turned positive for you, did you take them after the implantation bleeding and that’s when they changed to positive?! Fingers crossed for you! 🤞🏻
