TTC ovulation help 😫

hello,

i had a miscarraige in april at 8weeks 2days we decided this month we were ready to start trying again, but i am getting really confused and questioning wether what we are doing is right so if anyone could help explain/point me in the right direction i’d be grateful.

i started LH testing properly when my fertile window was said to be starting on CD 14, however i got a low reading so waited 2 days and tested again on CD 16 and got a high reading, this reading stayed the same for CD 17 so we had sex, the reading had slightly risen the morning of CD18 so i continued testing throughout the day and it gradually for higher so we had sex again that night as the last test indicated it was my peak, ive took another test this morning CD 19 and it’s given a low reading but the app is saying to have sex again as there is a high chance i could get pregnant as it’s my ovulation day.

i assumed my ovulation day would be the day i got my peak reading, high chance of fertility and today low chance of fertility we could have a night off 🙈 please someone help and explain a what’s going on and what i need to do, ive tried googling but there’s no answers - thank you x

Hi @cgou1 okay, so the strips show that you had the surge of LH, Luteinising Hormone, CD17/CD18. That's when the test lines were as dark or darker than the control lines.

Ovulation occurs 12-36 hours AFTER this LH surge, which is why it's a good idea to not only DTD when you get a peak reading, but also in the day or so afterwards. I would assume that you ovulated on CD19 (today?), which means that egg is probably travelling down your fallopian tube today.

The LH tests just tell you that ovulation is probably going to happen in the next day or so, not right that minute

as i said on my original post i DTD on both CD 17 and 18 thinking that the peak reading was when i was ovulating 🙈

would you recommend DTD again today or is it possible i could conceive from the last 2 days or is that just me being a numpty and not understanding things and not being able to concieve until today?

No it's also important to DTD before ovulation! That way the sperm are already there waiting for the egg in the tubes! So it's also entirely possible to conceive by dtd before ovulation.

But it's also recommended to DTD on ovulation day itself to maximise chances!! So if you can face it today/tonight do it! 😜
