Help, OPK's driving me mad!

I've attached a screenshot of my OPK results. I'm also using clear blue digital and have had flashing smileys since Monday (indicating high fertility, but not peak).

My last two cycles I got a static smiley on day 27 (which would be tomorrow)... But the cheaper tests don't seem to be surging much! Yesterday there was a surge but today it's dipped again.

I've been DTD every other day and was planning on DTD tonight tomorrow and Sunday as my partner goes away on Monday - I originally thought this would be fine because of my past ovulation dates but now I'm panicking I won't get my static smiley tomorrow!! I'm also testing twice a day.

Could I possibly get a big surge within 24hrs? 🤞

OP do you have very long cycles? Just that you mentioned ovulating on cd27. Well, I guess ovulating on cd27/29 if the peak occurred on cd27.

In which case, a slightly later ovulation is always possible. Do you also temp?

@Flederjo Yes, since the coming of microgynon, my cycles have been 33, 38 and 41 days... I only used OPKs (clear blue digital) for my last two cycles and got a positive test on cycle day 27 both times.
I was going to try temping but kept waking up and forgetting to do this, so gave up.

My best friend is getting married next may, so after this cycle I have to stop trying for the next two cycles to avoid missing it, hence why I was really hoping I had a chance to try this cycle.

This happened to me last cycle (never got a positive) and I concluded that I just never ovulated. Probably tired and stressed.

@ananotherscroller ahh it's so frustrating isn't it!
I kind of wish I stuck to clear blue digital and didn't get these cheaper ones where you read the lines.. last month on cycle day 26 (evening) I felt like I had ovulation pains, I just had this feeling and then the next morning I got my static smiley.

I guess my main question is can the surge happen sharply within 24hours? Fingers crossed it can.

It sounds like your cycles are quite long and therefore it isn’t too surprising you haven’t had a peak yet, generally the peak is ~14 days before your period, whereas the period of time before ovulation is more likely to vary and can be anything really (I only learned this the other day!)
I would keep testing twice a day if possible, second wee of the day and again around dinner time. That way you won’t miss it.

Absolutely, some people get very fast sudden LH surges!

@Wouldloveanother yes so if I have another 41 day cycle, I should hopefully get my positive test tomorrow, meaning ovulation Sunday. I'll just be gutted if I don't as my partner goes away on Monday!
