Hey,
Is there anybody else on tww after 1st round of clomid? Haven’t seen much posts here re clomid.
we have been ttc for nearly 5 years, I have mild pcos, but so far no luck except for 2 chemicals last year. My gp gave me clomid prescription. I went for day 21 bloods, she said lh and pg looks good.
im on day 29 now, just tested and got very faint lines on 3 tests, praying this month is lucky, it has been heartbreaking time ttc for so long

That looks amazing! Congratulations! Did you trigger shot or just take the clomid?

Longbin · 14/07/2022 22:07

Congratulations!! That looks very positive to me as long as you haven't used a trigger shot. I'm doing my first round of clomid this month after 5 years too. Hope I have the same result!

AnnMii · 14/07/2022 23:30

@Brunette1652 thank you, no just clomid first time ever and I didn’t track ovulation either

@Longbin thank you 😊
no trigger shot. First time clomid. My gp wouldn’t sign it without the gyno approval, so had to go for private, paid lots of money just to be told I have mild pcos and I shude be fine 🤨 I guess my gp felt sorry for me after I told her I spent over 500 on 2 appointments so she gave me clomid to try.
how have u managed 5 years? It has been overwhelming for me. I’m getting bit darker lines today, will post pictures, fingers crossed Xx best of luck to u too xx

<stares hard at own 15 Yr old 6ft+ Dt's>
Pcos, 5 years on metformin then had dc1, then 1x chemical and 1x molar... then prescribed Clomid... And DT's showed up!

Fingers crossed for you. X

Longbin · 15/07/2022 08:08

My GP wouldn't give it to me either, I paid for a private appointment who said I need a laparoscopy, had that on the NHS and they still wouldn't give it to me, so I've bought it abroad. It's ridiculous. They were happy to give me an operation when I had no symptoms, yet wouldn't let me take clomid as they were concerned about super ovulation as they think I ovulate. I've never had a positive OPK other than some dodgy clear blue ones, and I had one this month so it must be doing something!

Longbin · 15/07/2022 08:09

I don't know how to respond to specific posts, but the second test is definitely darker!!

Brunette1652 · 15/07/2022 09:47

That’s amazing! I’m in the middle of waiting for my private appointment to start clomid also, did you get tracking scans? My gp won’t get me clomid I’m trying to get metformin off her (anything to help me) hence why I’m going to go private to get it.

Longbin · 15/07/2022 11:22

@Brunette1652 I went for an IVF baseline scan privately and mentioned I had taken it so they checked how many follicles they could see. It was £200 and cheaper than continuing to pay out for these appointments and getting nowhere!

Melpainter · 15/07/2022 11:27

I have pcos and have a cycle once or twice a year. I was given clomid for my first child and it work first time been ttc again and not being successful So back on the clomid this month I was maybe 90 odd days since my last AF so they didn’t say wait for AF just take it so I had 50mg clomid on 4th July to the 8th July. I started feeling aching symptoms from left ovary on the 9th and 10th July I was using Pearl a home ovulation detection and the results were going up and down daily, as seen in the image below. The blue line is FSH and the pink is LH, So yesterday I had the gynaecology scan and she said I had definitely ovulated on the left side, so I ovulated somewhere within 6 days after finishing clomid I think around the 12th or 13th July, the scan showed an endo lining of 9.63mm too which I believe is good for implantation. now I’m in the two week window and praying we have timed everything correctly, my other half said he put arm bands on his swimmers so they have more chance of meeting the egg 🤣 got to love his sense of humour, that helps with my stressed head over obsessing about ovulation and tww and so on

anyways I hope this story helps and I will let you know the results in two weeks, fingers crossed 🤞 good luck to everyone on here xx

Brunette1652 · 15/07/2022 11:35

@Longbin that’s great news! Did you go privately for the clomid also? So are you just going for tracking scans every month through the private clinic?

Longbin · 15/07/2022 12:58

@Brunette1652 no they wouldn't give it to me after I wasted yet more money on appointments so I bought it myself. I'm doing one round then going back for IVF next month instead. If I did continue clomid after the IVF round, I'm not going to bother with scans. I don't think people often have them after the first month on the NHS anyway.

Hopeislost · 15/07/2022 14:35

Worth noting that NICE guidelines state that letrozole should be first choice of drug for ovulation induction. Higher success rate, fewer lining issues and fewer multiples than Clomid. Although treatment is v similar so feel free to join the ongoing Letrozole thread.

Brunette1652 · 15/07/2022 15:51

@Hopeislost in the uk clomid is first prescribed over letrozole, it’s quite hard to get letrozole prescribed first over clomid

Hopeislost · 15/07/2022 16:16

@Brunette1652 I'm in the UK and was told I had to try letrozole first, because it's more effective than clomid. It's weird how things differ - monitoring also seems very varied.

Brunette1652 · 15/07/2022 17:39

@Hopeislost are you going private or through nhs? I will ask when I have my private appointment but probably is because clomid is cheaper 🙄

FrankTurner · 15/07/2022 17:46

My 1st try on clomid is now 15 Yr old, 6ft 5 DS! I was told it looked liked I barely ever ovulated so prescribed the clomid to "kick start" ovulation.

When DS was 9 months old, we decided to crack on with dc2 as we didn't want a large gap & he had taken over 2 yrs of ttc. DD arrived 8 1/2 months later so looks like the kick starting worked!

Those are some lovely lines - congratulations!

AnnMii · 15/07/2022 22:14

@Longbin wow can I ask where did you buy it? We’re u just able to get it over counter? Iv been same, have never seen positive opk that’s why I started pushing my gp and went private. I’m in Ireland and we have hse and they are very useless. Waiting lists for years and going nowhere. Hate health system here. Every gp appointment costs me 60e, every time they take bloods it’s other 25e 🤨

I caught second time on clomid but I knew I'd done the first one wrong so technically yes, caught first time. PCOS and never had a positive ovulation test. Now I have twins 😂😂. Not clomid twins I should add, identical ones. Good luck x

AnnMii · 15/07/2022 22:25

@Brunette1652
i got metformin from private gyno, took it November and December but to be honest didn’t feel any changes so I just stopped using it.
I had holiday in Latvia in May, I went to very popular gynaecologist, I was a bit scared after reading reviews but look after 5 years I really had nothing to loose, he had helped many who had problems with becoming pregnant. He did manual therapy down there, basically with his hands, fingers, it was sooo soo painful and after I had bad bruising on my stomach. He said everything down there was quite stiff and didn’t move much so that could be problem why I’m not getting pregnant. I had period 2 weeks after and now I’m getting positive tests first time ever. I don’t know was it more from his manual therapy or clomid, but all together seems like it worked 🙂 fingers crossed for stronger lines xx

@SheepingStandingUp how did you do it wrong the first time round? Did you go private for your clomid? I’d love to know how you found your clomid cycles

AnnMii · 15/07/2022 22:32

@Brunette1652
Hi, didn’t get any scans, only day 21 bloods done, and she told me they look good, checked lh and pg
