@Angie2018 thanks x I knew our DTD timing had been rubbish for this cycle because I ovulated a week later than normal so we'd almost run out of steam with the EOD by then 🤣 but still got my hopes up made worse by those faint evap lines on my tests

Angie2018 · 16/07/2022 13:40

@Tropicana1 oh it's so hard isn't it!! Are you doing the SMEP? That's a lot of sex, we do that and start from cycle day 4. So you roughly know when you ovulate each month or does it vary? Maybe start DTD a bit later?

The disappointment each month is just horrible isn't it. I've almost given up hoping now. Even though I am secretly hoping but I don't feel like it's going to work this month and I keep telling myself it won't. Just so I don't get down again when AF comes.

How does anyone not get their hopes up though I mean it's sooooo hard 🙈

Hi ladies, just thought I would share some insight from my personal experience as it seems a few of us have experienced losses.
After two mc you can actually get referred to Tommy’s in Coventry.
It turns out that a possible cause for mine could be the change in time zones. Both happened within days of travelling long haul. The first time was a holiday and then second unfortunately for work. I was convinced it was the flights and asked the professor at Tommys who reassured me it wouldn’t be the flight but the change in time zone affects your body’s circadian rhythm which controls when certain hormones are released. I had absolutely no idea this was even a thing and is not recommended to avoid anywhere which I find surprising.
This helped me to try to stay positive (for now) as it could possibly, hopefully be something in my control.
They also did blood tests and prescribed me with progesterone for next time I hopefully get pregnant. Plus you get an early scan.

Just thought I would share as I had no idea Tommys even existed before someone told me!

p.s. 10 dpo and another BFN. Can’t stop testing 😫

Tropicana1 · 16/07/2022 14:09

@Angie2018 tend to ovulate around CD13-14 but test to be sure, last cycle was CD13 and this cycle was CD19! If I hadn't tested would have totally missed it and also been nearly a week late for my period whereas because I knew at least I was expecting my period to be delayed.
Sort of SMEP I guess but less rigid/intense, just try to DTD every 2-3 days after my period ends which is usually around CD5/6 so say start on CD7/8 but because this month didn't ovulate until CD19 we ended up being away camping on the day before and peak day and DH was unwell on O day so didn't DTD any of those!

Angie2018 · 16/07/2022 14:37

@Tropicana1 oh wow that's late was there a reason it was delayed? I agree SMEP is a lot if sex!!

kizzy97 · 16/07/2022 16:08

Only 2DPO and feel drained 🥱 also seem to be sleeping more then I normally do, although I know if I'm sucessful this cycle then it would be impossible to have symptoms as I won't have implanted yet 🙄

I am in the same boat. 2dpo I have had nausea since ovulation and I am exhausted. Neither of which can possibly be sxs 🙄

Hey All,

I am new here and just wanted help with what all the abbreviations mean? Sorry if that’s really stupid.

My boyfriend and I have been trying for a baby for 10 months now, and to be honest I’m trying my hardest to just be positive, however, to be honest it’s really getting me down now. I don’t know if anyone else is in the same boat. I don’t speak to anyone about it, as all my close friends and family all have so much going on, I don’t want to bother them. My other half already has a 9 year old, and I think that’s what makes it harder. I haven’t ever been close to being pregnant. So guess I just wondered if anyone else feels the same or in a similar boat. My friend said to come on here as people go through the same thing. Thanks for listening. I really appreciate it

LucyLoopyLu · 16/07/2022 20:06

@Tropicana1 oh no sorry about AF coming 😐 mine was early this time too. Hope you're ok and not feeling too bad. I have been struggling with it a bit this time. Someone close to me has announced a pregnancy and it was the day before I tested (2 days before AF) so felt a bit horrible. Hope you manage to relax and take some time to yourself this weekend

Angie2018 · 16/07/2022 20:16

Hey @Lucyintheskywithdiamonds1988 so sorry you are feeling so down about it all.
I am in the same boat as you, I am on cycle 7 TTC & my partner also has two children from a previous marriage. I have been pregnant before when I was really young & we had a chemical pregnancy two cycles ago. I am also feeling desperate and struggling to remain positive about it all. This place is a really good place to vent and chat because no one judges and everyone understands. It's hard to talk to friends and family as I feel it only adds more pressure onto the situation.

Just know that it can take a year to fall pregnant for very healthy couples and sometimes it takes longer.

Have either of you had any tests at all? Do you have regular periods and know when you ovulate etc?

Which abbreviations do you need help with? X

Gizzy93 · 16/07/2022 21:42

Feeling a bit sick this morning. Had to hold my boobs going down the stairs this morning 😅
I reeeeaaaaallllllly hope this isnt another indent 🥺

Hoping for a BFP in July/august
Salpforyou · 16/07/2022 22:27

@grizzy93 what do you mean by an indent?

Gizzy93 · 16/07/2022 23:08

the tests have an indent where the dye collects if its positive. Some brands, and FRER are really bad for them, they show up even when they're negative. They're grey or white

ChickenT2b · 16/07/2022 23:14

I try to look for the faint line before doing the test to be safe!

My2boysaremyworld · 17/07/2022 00:07

So Iv been to the emergency dentist again tonight and had my tooth extracted 😩 fed up of tasting blood now, panicking cuz I'm still bleeding not lots but feels like loads xx

Gizzy93 · 17/07/2022 06:57

@My2boysaremyworld ah dental work is the worst! I hope you don't feel too crappy for too long ❤❤

MattyM5 · 17/07/2022 07:35

Morning ladies! 😊 TTC #1 for months now (feels endless) and I think I got a line on FRER at DPO 10ish but I got sooooo burned a couple of months ago when I had a very deceiving evap line 😢………..so does anyone think this is an evap line? It appeared after ca 3mins

Hoping for a BFP in July/august

Baby3herewego · 17/07/2022 07:38

@MattyM5 I would say that’s a positive!!! Evap lines aren’t normally pink and that 100% is 😀

Missgemini · 17/07/2022 08:14

@MattyM5 thats a line!!!! Congratulations!

Tropicana1 · 17/07/2022 08:35

@Gizzy93 really sorry but I can't see anything at all on that test

@MattyM5 definitely positive congratulations!!

OneMoreLittleFox · 17/07/2022 08:47

@Gizzy93 I see what you see. I hope it turns into a BFP for you!

OneMoreLittleFox · 17/07/2022 08:48

@MattyM5 that is a clear BFP! Congratulations!

Gizzy93 · 17/07/2022 08:51

@Tropicana1 it looks like an indent to me, but I'm hoping I'm wrong and it's the start of. BFP 😂

Angie2018 · 17/07/2022 08:52

@MattyM5 that's definitely a positive!! Congrats! How long have you been trying for??

EdinburghGirl1 · 17/07/2022 08:58
