IC Evaps or BFP

Hi all!

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this anyway but thought I'd put it to the wider forum. A couple of days ago I had an evap on an IC at 12 and 13dpo.

Yesterday and this morning (14/15DPO) I took FRERs which were stark white. AF is due today but no PMS symptoms yet. I did another IC and got another line but again, I think its an evap.

Thoughts? It came up straight away within around 30 seconds. Turned brightness down for better visibility.

Also just to add as a bit of background. When I had my son in 2014 I didn't get a positive pregnancy test until I was 5 weeks pregnant 😂

I reckon that's a bfp but get a first response one to confirm. I found I get much stronger lines on a first response, I had a smudge on an ic which prompted me to get an obvious pink line on a FR. It took a week for the ic to catch up and be very obvious.

I did do a first response yesterday and today and both are stark white 🥴 and I did them with FMU whereas this one was done with my third wee of the day so this is why I think it's prob an evap 😫

I inverted the images and although you can clearly see the line I think if it was a pos activated by urine surely it would glow like the control line?

Not if it’s only faint and there’s definitely a bit of a glow on the test line 😁

I just think I'm very apprehensive to believe it could be a BFP. I've had evaps on these before (attached photo of a previous evap from april) and I'm not getting any line on any FRERs which are meant to be more sensitive?

So these did turn out to be really nasty evap lines. AF just arrived. 😔 oh well. Onto month 27.

That's ridiculous! I'd call that an obvious line. What brand are these? That's cruel. Sorry about af.

calicodye · 07/07/2022 17:20

These are One Step tests :( I knew it wouldn't be a positive but doesn't hurt any less for someone who has been trying for over 2 years.

Very much lost hope.

I here you. I've had my hopes raised by that brand before. It's horrible. Also 2 years + and have lost hope. All I can say is It's shit.

Agreed. Our nurse also added fuel to the fire when yesterday we were discussing IVF and she had said that she felt we were eligible for NHS funding due to my partner not having any kids despite me having a 7yo from previous relationship. All the websites and CCGs near us state that we are not eligible so our hopes there were completely crushed too. Now to try and save up a stupid amount of money for even one cycle of IVF that isn't guaranteed.

You are having a pretty tough couple of days with all that. Hope you have wine/chocolate/any other vice to hand this evening. Take care x
