Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

Checking ovulation....can I make do with just ovulation sticks or is it worth getting a clearblue fertility monitor/persona thing?

Would welcome any advice.

Am just about to start cycle 5 ttcing for second pregnancy.

Feel I need some reassurance from something scientific that we are doing it at the right time...my cycles are fairly regular (28-30) days but we have two toddlers and both work so finding the time and energy to BD all month through is hard!

Do I need just the ovulation sticks or are the monitors worth the extra price? Monitors do seem expensive when you add on the sticks too...do you get a set of sticks for the first month with the monitor?

Any advice gratefully recieved.

I have never had any success with ov sticks. But I can recommend a book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It is very informative and tells you signs to look out for when you are/about to ov. It also tells you how to chart your cycle.

I had private fertility treatment, and they were happy enough with the sticks to time my treatment.

Cheers all...

Keep meaning to buy "Taking Charge of your fertility" but find it hard to find the time to do temps/measure cervix etc...I kinda just want something which instantly says "Yes, today is worth a try"!

Might start off with the sticks- at least I will feel like I am doing something positive to help my ttcing quest and hopefully reassure myself I am actually ovulating...
