Hi all….

historically I’ve always conceived pretty much straight away. Had two DD (15&17) but was very young at the time (24&26)

since then in the past two years I’ve fallen PG twice with my lovely partner without even trying resulting in MC.

BUT now we’ve been actively TTC for the past 5months but nothing :(

im 42yrs so feel time is very much not on my side ! Therefore I’m considering using ovulation tests.

theres so many to choose from ! What would be your recommendation?

thanks xx

Depends what your budget is. Easy@home are good which you can pick up from Amazon fairly cheaply, or the clear blue advance digital is good too but more pricey.

The cheap OPKs test for LH which rises just before ovulation - it doesn't confirm you ovulated though just that the LH has risen. But if you are ovulating then at least they can tell you if you have hit the right time.

You can also go and see your doctor for tests once you have been trying for 6 months. I'm not sure what tests they do but they may do a range of bloods which could include day 21 bloods to see if you are ovulating.

I found some cheap ones on eBay. Do you think these would be worth it, or go for dearer ones?? I don't like the idea of all that plastic and the strips look like far less plastic than the rest of them.

Any ideas on the cheap ones??
