Vitamins when trying to convince

Hey, I'm new here so forgive me if I'm in the wrong place.
I've been TTC for over a year now for baby no3. I have 2 beautiful children already, with them I had no problems at all. This time round it's been difficult.
I was once told to take separate vitamins and not in a multivitamin so I just wanted opinions really on the following ones that I take

Vitamin E 400iu
Vitamin D 1000iu
Vitamin C 1000mg
Vitamin B6 50mg
Vitamin B12 100ug
Folic acid 400ug

I have irregular periods and my LP is only 10 days so trying to extend that and regulate my cycle really.

Thanks in advance

Consider adding Omega 3 to that, it's now recommended in many places for development of the brain. Try to find one without added vitamin E (not sure why that's often added, maybe as a preservative or something)

The others I have no idea about, I took a standard prenatal vitamin that had all the recommended stuff at the right levels. Plus extra folic acid!

Oh amazing thank you I will do.
I was wondering if too many is bad and I could somehow overdose on vitamins 🙈 not sure if that's a thing haha.

So I know vitamin B6 helps with LP so I'm hoping that extends mine a little and vitamin B12 is good for fertility.

I always take vitamin C anyway but heard vitamin E is good for CM.

Vitamin D is also recommended so I take that and folic acid as standard.

I'm hoping I'm right in thinking the above 🙈

Thank you

I would recommend you have a read of ‘It starts with an egg’ and look at the vitamin regimes at the back. I did this for recurrent miscarriage and successfully had my 3rd.

Best of luck to you.

@Luckystar1 that's amazing thank you I will have a look for that. How long did you take the vitamins before you successfully had your 3rd? Congratulations x

You can definitely overdose on the 'fat soluble' vitamins D&E.
B&C are excreted by the body

Oh thank you, I didn't know that. I'll try find out the highest dose. Maybe I won't take the E I haven't started that one yet x

@Piningforno3 I got successfully pregnant without miscarrying I think only 2 months into taking them.

chasingtherainbow1 · 22/06/2022 08:37

I'm taking a really similar vitamin regime and always wondered if I'm taking too many. But I have heard that most of them are secreted by the body of there is an excess. I've been doing it for 3 months now so fingers crossed.

@Luckystar1 it's lovely to hear a success story after taking vitamins from It Starts with an Egg. I have had 3 miscarriages and started the regime 3 months ago so I'm hoping our next will be successful! Thanks for sharing and giving a bit of hope

Flederjo · 22/06/2022 09:20

@chasingtherainbow1 if you have already had 3 early losses it might be worth taking baby aspirin and progesterone, not just relying on vitamins. 🙂

Piningforno3 · 22/06/2022 09:44

@chasingtherainbow1 that's good to know someone else is on similar to me. It's always worries me putting so much in my body lol. I tried conciece plus before as they have amazing reviews but it just delayed my ovulation.

@Luckystar1 that's great to hear! Thank you

@Flederjo thanks, I tried aspirin with the last one and take blood thinners too. I have been prescribed progesterone privately to try for the next one. I've had tests too which have all come back normal which is why I've gone in heavy with the vitamins this time 😂 hopefully I'll have better look soon!

chasingtherainbow1 · 22/06/2022 10:30

@Piningforno3 my consultant told me that a lot of prenatal don't have enough on them and it's better to take separate vitamins. It's just a minefield isn't it

Piningforno3 · 22/06/2022 11:11

@chasingtherainbow1 yess that's exactly what I was told. Prenatals so not have enough and to take them separately so I've just picked the ones I think will help the most. It is a midfield though and I'm sure there are many more that would be better 🙈
