Uterine polyps - do I need to worry?

Hi everyone - I’m 42 and ttc second child. We have been trying for quite a while (have put it down to my age) so recently went to gp to start investigation. Bloods were all fine but they think they have found a uterine polyps in the lining of my uterus. My gp was lovely but couldn’t answer my question about how this could impact fertility. I’ve been referred to gynecology but the waiting time is currently 54 weeks!! I don’t have that long so considering private referral at least for a consultation as I have so many questions and very worried this is going to stop my chances of getting pregnant.google is scaring me.
does anyone have any experience of polyps they can share?

I had a polyp removed a few months ago, it was massive (taking up the whole of my uterus), it was missed during scans (no idea how given the size of it!) but found when I had surgery for endometriosis. I was told I would never have conceived with that in there as nothing could implant so I think it probably depends on the size of it. There was a lady in the ward with me who had some removed that started out smaller but she got pregnant and they grew (one was the same size as her baby!) so if it was me I would get it removed asap. Sorry I know it’s not a nice situation to be in but if you can get it sorted asap you should. They should refer you urgently for biopsy so maybe press this and see if they do it as an urgent procedure x

I saw a Gynae in March for ectropian treatment and she said the one thing she would want to remove is a polyp if there was one as it can prevent implantation so I would certainly go privately to have it removed x

Sorry to jump on this thread. I haven't posted here before and not 100 percent sure how it works!

I had my second baby in November and have been bleeding ever since - up until about 2 weeks ago.

When the bleeding stopped, my appointment for a transvaginal scan came through. I still decided to have it done and went to the appointment.

I have 2 very small uterine polyps. Since my bleeding has subsided, my belly has become increasingly bloated and I look pregnant again! I am now waiting for a gynecologist appointment.
I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this?
Thank you ♥️

How did things go for you afterwards. I am 43 and have polyps - also TTC, but wondering if I should wait to get them removed.
