So fed up right now. Been TTC #2 for nine months. Feels like everyone else around me is pregnant. I’ve had two consecutive chemical pregnancies and now this cycle I’ve ended up with only a 9 day luetal phase (usually 12) so worried my cycles are all off and something is wrong.

We’re tracking using OPKs and taking all the supplements but just feels like it’s never going to happen.

Hey @Charl881 I feel your pain. I haven't been trying for as long as you have, so I can't relate too much but I agree it's very disheartening. I had a CP on my second cycle and nothing on the third, so I'm currently 9DPO on the fourth and I feel very period-y and have about a week more before I know anything. It's really rotten. Hopefully we both get our BFPs soon xx

I can relate we've been trying for our second since January but since my first was born my cycles seem to be all over the place. I've decided to try using ovulation tests this month because so far I've just been using an app. I had a chemical last month and I'm currently on cycle day 8 and my app is telling me I'll ovulate on the 27th. Do you know when I should start using the ovulation tests??

I never realised until we tried for our first that it was so frustrating trying to get pregnant. I always feel so deflated when my period arrives but we just keep going because the reward when it finally happens is so worth it

@Rainbowbaby13 what I would say is that I ovulated a good few days earlier than usual after my last chemical so I’d started testing now as it may be before you app anyway! Then you can hopefully see a steady rise too.

Good luck! It took 13 months with my DS but I didn’t feel the frustrations I’m feeling this time around.

@Charl881 for our first it took a year so I don't know why it's getting to me so much this time when it's only been 6 months.

Hi @Charl881 I've been trying for 9 months as well. My DD took 9 months, so I wasn't feeling so bad about how long it was taking, but now we've gone past that milestone it's harder to deal with. Are you starting a new cycle now? I'm just starting 2WW xx

Sarahmayo · 20/06/2022 23:59

Feel your pain too. It's so hard and unfair. I know the feeling of everyone else around you being pregnant too, although I'm happy for them it's still hard and you always think why can't I catch a break. My daughter is due in 5 weeks, she got pregnant last year 2 weeks after I did but I lost mine on Christmas Eve. Very happy for my daughter but sad for my DH and me too

Sarah13xx · 21/06/2022 00:05

hope it happens for you soon! Have you tried pre-seed? I believe that’s what worked for us

Charl881 · 21/06/2022 14:43

@tingalayo yes AF arrived Sunday so another new cycle! I do think each one gets harder to deal with. For me it’s more the worry it might never happen.

@Sarahmayo that must be really difficult, sorry to hear about your loss! You’re right though it’s such a mix of emotions. Im always so happy for friends when they announce a pregnancy but each one is like a kick in the stomach.

@Sarah13xx We have tried it in the past, might give it another go this cycle, nothing to lose. I’ve had two chemicals recently though so the issue doesn’t seem to necessarily be getting pregnant.

@Charl881 yes definitely the worry that it might never happen. Since that gets more likely each time you 'fail'. I don't think it's like that for my husband, I think he has faith it will happen eventually (since we did manage to conceive DD naturally) and it's just a case of taking a long time. Whereas I'm already mentally preparing myself for not being able to have another one!
My luteal phase is a bit funny too, usually 11 days but it's gone as low as 9 before. I obsess about it. It's bad either way because with a shorter luteal phase I wonder if something is wrong, but with a long one I go through a really stressful few days convincing myself I must be pregnant and then I never am :(
