Hi ladies. Just wondering if anyone has experienced positive results on ‘early’ pregnancy tests (the ones billed as ‘results before your period is due’ type things) - but negative results on normal tests even after your period is late?
Following a heartbreaking TFMR last year, my husband and I have been TTC again for 6 months with no luck yet. I typically have a 30-32 day cycle and this month had a positive ovulation test on CD18. I took a Clearblue early detection test on CD30 (so 11/12 DPO assuming I ovulated within a day of my positive ovulation test). It said ‘pregnant’. I took another Clearblue early detection test on CD31 (so 12/13 DPO). Again, it said ‘pregnant’. But the next day, I took a normal Clearblue pregnancy test as I would have expected my period to come that day (CD32 and 13/14 DPO) - and it said ‘not pregnant’. Today I’d class my period as a day late (CD33 and 14/15 DPO) so I took another normal Clearblue test - and it still said ‘not pregnant’. My period still hasn’t arrived, though.
Has anyone had a similar experience and gone on to have a BFP that month? Or is it more likely that I just had a very early chemical pregnancy which has never progressed to a high enough level of hCG for a normal test to pick up? I’m in a really strange limbo right now. I never normally take the ‘early’ tests, but this week we’ve had a couple of boozy family events (where me not drinking will immediately make everyone assume I am indeed pregnant) - so I decided to take them to see if I could risk a glass of wine or not. But all they seem to have done is get my hopes up when it may well be for no reason.
I’d really appreciate other people’s stories. Thank you.
MM x
