I’m so annoyed, just done my last FRER even though I knew it would be a BFN. I’ve wasted so much money on tests this month. Next month I’m definitely not testing early because I’m sending myself mad doing this every single cycle not to mention how much I’m spending!!

@Charl881 ive got a ‘no testing until missed period’ thread if you want to join for moral support! Like you I winced when I realised how much money I had literally pissed away last month - it cannot continue!

I definitely will next cycle! I was never like this with TTC #1 and was much happier and richer for it! It will take a lot of will power though.

I’m not buying FRERs any more out of principle - I’ve seen so many negatives now and given them so many £££ I feel quite bitter! The plan is to wait until period is 1 day late, buy a regular test from boots or Superdrug, and take it with FMU the next day. If it’s negative I get to buy myself a present!

when I feel tempted to test I’m going to remind myself how stressful line analysing is, and even if i got a line it would be so faint as to be an anticlimax - I wouldn’t tell DH until it was stronger anyway. Much better to get a beaming BFP and have that moment of surprise/joy!

@Wouldloveanother yep I'm with you there. Hate FRERs. I was off work this week and this made it so much harder to resist. Literally hate myself every time I waste one.

@Wouldloveanother That’s such a good plan! I may join you on that. The evap lines etc just make it even worse, at least if you wait until you late then that’s not an issue. I love the present idea as well.I feel the same about FRERs now.

@MrsGrealish I definitely think part of my issue is working from home! When I was working in an office every day I wouldn’t have had time to sit there analysing and inverting tests.

@Charl881 honestly that would be a killer for me. I'm off another week now with the covid..send help. Have one FRER left and it's staring at me

Don’t give FRER another penny Mrs G! The only reason we use them is because they’re sensitive enough for early testing which in itself is not a great idea! If we hold out long enough a £4 Superdrug test should be just as accurate!

I think that’s partly why I did my FRER to be honest, I just wanted rid of it. If AF doesn’t show tomorrow then I can just buy any old brand. I don’t need to keep Amazon priming FRERs, they won’t actually change whether or not I’m pregnant.

The last time I ordered them it popped up how many times I had ordered the item and I was absolutely mortified.

@MrsGrealish thats the worst isn’t it! Ironically I think I only weed on one FRER with my DS and that was my BFP. Oh for that willpower now. Amazon has a lot to answer for.

I think maybe I have a bfp....it came up instantly! I'm only 9 dpo I think!

AF is here! Very relieved she’s not made me wait another day. Onto another month where there will be absolutely no early testing!

CD11 here, pretty sure today’s my surge but I’ve run out of OPKS 😱 not sure whether to pop to the shop at lunchtime or to just leave it? It won’t really affect when we DTD etc as we will just keep going every day or every other day so 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think if it won’t effect when you DTD then don’t worry about it.

I’ve just ordered some clear blue OPKs for next cycle and something called a Fertilily. I’ve told myself it’s better to throw money at fertility stuff rather than pregnancy tests… just need to be strong now on not buying tests

I’ve just started using the Fertilily! Literally a few days ago. Make sure you read the instructions as you have to boil it in an open top pan before first use (honestly that was a weird ttc moment for me!), I would also advise having a practice run with it before using after dtd - I use it with a dollop of preseed which REALLY helps, I don’t think I could use it comfortably without lube! But it’s not as scary as it looks and once it’s in you can’t feel it.

I did go to the shops but both boots and Superdrug had sold out of the cheap strip opks and just had the fancy pregnancy test style ones - minimum £10, so I didn’t bother and ended up buying a load of fake tan instead 🤪 I may pick some up in the supermarket later if there is any, but not if DH can see - I haven’t told him I’m tracking etc, i keep it private because I don’t want to stress him out with ‘performing’.

just keep visualising a nice strong BFP, and remember the anxiety that very faint lines can give you!

@Charl881 I spent like £8.99 on 100 cheap one step pregnancy tests to satisfy my ridiculous testing urges. Didn't waste a single frer last cycle because of them and only wasted the ones I did this cycle because of stupid indents!
Not testing early is definitely the more sensible option though 🤣

Ah just seen your post that af has arrived now @Charl881 sorry you're out - we're quite close for this cycle I'm only CD3 (and actually peed on a one step pregnancy test this morning just to make sure, even though I'm definitely on my period - what is actually wrong with me!)
