Chinese gender chart decisons!!

threesacharm12 · 07/06/2022 11:25

I'm 40 years old and hoping to try for my third child - I have 2 beautiful boys and would love to try for a girl this time. My first 2 were correctly predicted by the chinese gender chart, which in my head sounds like complete nonsense! But it is scarily accurate for lots of people I know. Thing is the chart is telling me the next few months are 'boy' months so I would have to wait and waste precious time if I was to wait for 'girl' months....what would you do? This will definitely be my last child and I'd hate to not have given everything a go, although I am also aware time is not on my side. My husband thinks I'm nuts for putting my faith in this chart and but for some reason I do feel there is something in it!

I've attached the chart for 2021/22. Would love to hear if this was accurate for you to gauge how much this really works! Please have a look and comment below - remember to use your date of birth from the left hand column rather than your age as chinese lunar age adds a year or so on. The horizontal column is the month in which you conceived. The online ones I think are hit and miss whereas this chart seems to be the most authentic and acuarate - let's put it to the test!

This wasn't right for me I'm afraid. Works out I'd have a boy and I'm having a girl.

threesacharm12 · 07/06/2022 12:48

Arghhh oh no!! I thought I was onto a sure thing (as can be!)😭

I know back in 2015 when I had my daughter it was very wrong

Mommabear20 · 07/06/2022 13:05

Wrong for both my DC. Sperm determines the sex of the baby, nothing else!

Strokethefurrywall · 07/06/2022 13:08

Was correct for my first but incorrect for my second!

Two completely different pregnancies, two boys.

SW1amp · 07/06/2022 13:09

It’s wrong for DS2 and doesn’t go back far enough for the others

but surely if there was any accuracy in it, maternity wards would have very swayed births each month?

There is a hospital which releases birth data each month (boys, girls, prems, still births etc)

I would put money on there being zero correlation between the chart and the hospital data

whosaidtha · 07/06/2022 13:11

I imagine it's right about 50% of the time.

whosaidtha · 07/06/2022 13:11

Was wrong for my first two right for my third.

parietal · 07/06/2022 13:15

there is absolutely no scientific or rational reason why this would work. ditch the chart - it is 100% pure chance.

QueenOfThorns · 07/06/2022 13:18

So it’s never possible to have twins, 1 boy and 1 girl?

AWobABobBob · 07/06/2022 13:23

Maybe look into the Babydust method...

Freshair87 · 07/06/2022 13:26

This is wrong for me too, if you want a girl try having sex leading up to ovulation but not actually when ovulating

threesacharm12 · 07/06/2022 13:32

Thanks for all the responses! Just to clarify the chart I’ve attached is only for babies born in 2021/22. For previous kids we’d need to find the chart for the year they were born/conceived.

In any case it’s clearly not as watertight as I thought! Strange as it is right for so many I know. My head tells me this can’t be accurate for all the reasons you have all said, but it you can’t help but wonder…maybe we need to crack on and just see what happens.

underneaththeash · 07/06/2022 13:38

I've found the ones for the years when my last two children were born - I can't for my first and they are both wrong!

We did the sex before ovulation thing and got a girl.

SW1amp · 07/06/2022 13:46

Also, OP, I read something a few years ago about how the odds aren’t always 50:50, as some men do seem to produce more sperm for one sex over another

i think if you already have 2 children of the same sex, the odds for your third aren’t 50:50 anymore, and are closer to 70:30 (am trying to find the source for that)

SallyWD · 07/06/2022 13:51

I believe you're more likely to have another boy as you already have 2 (as a PP says). I think you should go in to this pregnancy expecting it to be a boy so it's not a disappointment if you do have one. I personally think 3 boys will be be lovely! But I do understand we all have preferences. Wishing you a happy and healthy child.

stairgates · 07/06/2022 13:54

Go to the genderdreaming site and have a read through about swaying, worked for me x 4🙂

threesacharm12 · 07/06/2022 13:55

@SW1amp yes I have heard about this too.
Ultimately I’d feel blessed with a third child regardless of boy or girl, but I suppose you always want what you don’t have.

if nothing else this has helped to convince me to just get on with it and perhaps try the 2-3 ovulation method and just pray for a healthy baby which is all I can hope for at my age too. My husband will be relieved 😆

VeronicaBeccabunga · 07/06/2022 13:56

It looked as if mine were going to be the only grandkids on both sides and I knew I only wanted two children.
For number two I applied every old wives tale going: diet, timing of conception etc etc.
Second child was the opposite sex to first.
So I reckon every little helps!

InTheNightWeWillWish · 07/06/2022 13:58

I guess it depends when counts as conception? If you go by my ovulation date baby would have been a boy but if you go with a few days after ovulation as conception then I should have had a girl, which is what I had.

WhatIsThisPlease · 07/06/2022 14:05

I actually used this as a way to tell me when to conceive DC2 as I was desperate for a girl.

It was correct for both my babies and certainly not a coincidence

threesacharm12 · 07/06/2022 14:07

@WhatIsThisPlease oh no don’t say that!

FTM47 · 16/06/2024 21:03

@threesacharm12 just came across your old post and would love to know what you decided and the outcome 😆

nousernameleft · 16/06/2024 21:09

@FTM47 gosh I’d forgotten all about this thread! Well, i went for it and put my faith in the chart 😆 and I now have a 14 month old…little girl 😊 so the chart has been correct for all 3 of mine!

TheUniqueMember · 19/01/2025 15:01

Did you have a girl in the end?
