Doesn't feel real

Hi guys! I posted this in the pregnancy section too but figured it may be better placed here.

So I got my BFP yesterday evening ☺️ have been TTC for child number two for the last few months.
I was due my period yesterday and just had a feeling it was strange when it got to 8pm and it hadn't arrived! Very surprised at the colour of the line despite it not being FMU.

I've woken up today feeling so strange. Like it doesn't feel real. I feel absolutely fine, ZERO symptoms. I can't remember feeling like this with my first. With my first, I was exhausted and had a huge appetite.

I can't even remember at what point I'm supposed to phone the GP, surely it's too early? My son is only coming up to 2.5 so it wasn't ages ago but I'm just feeling a little lost! Anybody else feel like this? 🤔

Sadly I can't say I've felt that way as have been TTC myself for a few months and had no success. From what I understand, no two pregnancies are the same. Congratulations! xx

Congrats 🙂 I got my bfp at the weekend too, been obsessively testing since...

I also have a 2.5yo!

I'm not going to bother ringing up my gp until im about 6 weeks but I'm going for a scan at the hospital next Thursday due to previous ectopic and MC so for my own protection, I don't let it feel real yet!

I do know that you don't get as many midwife appointments for your 2nd child!

@SarahShorty thank you! Sorry it's not happened for you yet. Sending you lots of luck ❤️

@madeinthe80z congratulations! I tested last night around 8pm with a FRER then did a CB digital about an hour ago and it came up with 2-3 weeks! For some reason, seeing the words "pregnant" makes it feel a bit more real...
I just feel bizarrely okay?! Although I know it's still early. It's funny how even though I've done this before, I still feel as completely clueless as I did the first time around and 2.5 years ago really isn't that long ago!!
I think I may hold off until around the 6 week mark too before I contact the GP.
All the best for your scan 🤞🏽

Thank you 🙂

Do you know how many DPO you are?

I had really sore boobs until yesterday (so now obviously panicking about that 🙉), a huge appetite and the falling asleep on the couch by 8pm thing and that's about it so far!

S0220 · 07/06/2022 13:10

@madeinthe80z I'm about 16dpo (ish!) how about you?

My sore boobs have disappeared too! Mine usually get sore before AF so I didn't think anything of it. And I remember feeling so overwhelming tired with my first, which is why I'm finding it so strange that I feel ok at the moment. Strangely enough, I've tested positive with my second exactly 3 years and 1 day after my first - so they'll be fairly close in terms of their birthdays 🤣

Ah, wow does that mean due date is literally a day apart?!

I am 12DPO today so still very early. Was freaking out about line progression on the test strips I have from boots but my FRERs are going okay I think. I must peed away a lot of money these last few days!

Did you have many symptoms with your first??

S0220 · 07/06/2022 14:49

Possibly so! My son was actually born on my birthday (typical) - I can't imagine what it would be like if the second happens to arrive on our birthdays too 😂

I'm planning on getting another set of CB digitals tomorrow and will test again next week and hopefully see the 3+ weeks confirmation!

Not sure I'll be doing any more FRER's though. (She says haha).

Because ive tested positive an almost the exact time i have done with my son, I'm really comparing symptoms between the two. But I guess I'm not 100% clear on when I've ovulated so this method may not be accurate!

With my first, I was 100% certain that something wasn't "right". I was exhausted, falling asleep around 7pm after work, appetite was through the roof and my boobs were so veiny! But this time I have none of that. I'm not sure if I should be worried about this or not 🤔 how about you? Any differences between your first and now?

Congratulations 😁 is it possible you are not remembering fully from your 1st pregnancy how you felt? I am 33 weeks pregnant, I had zero symptoms the first few weeks. Like nothing!! But maybe 8 weeks (I already can't remember exactly when) in I was very tired, I also thought I didn't have nausea but I was eating carbs constantly to fend that off without realising. I just mean I am already forgetting exactly how I felt at the start so maybe you were similar and didn't feel tired until a few weeks in but in your memory that is just stored as being at the beginning. I hope I'm making sense!

S0220 · 07/06/2022 15:17

@Irishfarmer thank you! And congratulations to you too!

Quite possibly. However with my first, the tiredness and appetite were two of the main reasons why I tested! Whereas now, I only tested because AF hadn't shown. It's just strange how normal I feel. Although I shouldn't complain because I'm sure the tiredness will hit me like a train soon enough 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

I also complained that I had no symptoms, I'm in a group all due around the same time. I worried as to why I didn't have the same symptoms. I've since had sciatic which thankfully passed after 3 very painful weeks and now I have gestational diabetes!! Give me back my symptom free pregnancy 😂

S0220 · 07/06/2022 18:17

@Irishfarmer oh no! That doesn't sound great but the finish line is in sight for you! Maybe I should stop fretting about the lack of symptoms and be grateful 🤣
