I thought I was due AF on 2/3/4 June time. Nothing on liners, bit of vague CM and pink tinge when I wipe. Thinking that soon I'll properly get AF if that makes sense.

I did ovulation tests last month more as a learning exercise as we are new to TTC and my husband was away last month.

We DTD once when he returned, 30 May. I'm not usually late but given as we DTD once I know chances are slim (but it does only take one time!)

Also, drank far too much Saturday night do worried I've potentially caused damage.

Any advice please...

Hi there!

Did you get a positive opk last month and if so when?

Once you get your positive opk the egg will release within 36 hours and is usually only viable for between 12 and 24 hours.

With regard to the drinking there is really no harm from anything you eat or drink for the first month or so of pregnancy. Obviously it's better to be healthy as possible but some drinks this early on can't do any damage.

JB2021 · 06/06/2022 10:25

Thanks for the reassurance.

I tested around the 24 May but was unsure what they were showing. As I said my husband was away so it was more of a learning process for me. Here are the tests www.mumsnet.com/talk/conception/4524822-One-step-ovulation-tests?page=2&reply=117449686

Do a pregnancy test to confirm one way or the other 😜

Passenger87 · 06/06/2022 12:34

So none of those would be a conformation of LH surge BUT that doesn't mean you didn't Ovulate.

Sometimes it can be tricky to catch. Once I get a stronger line of my opks I start to test twice a day (cheapies are a godsend!!) Otherwise I would miss it. Its happened to me before.

You could always poas to clear your head about it. xx

I have just had 5 days of spotting only when wiping nothing on a liner but then on day 6 of spotting AF started (6 days late). It’s never happened to me before and was my first month tracking with OPK. I’ve always been so regular so it’s stumped me to the point I’m even wondering if I had covid with no symptoms which messed it up or something

in terms of drinking you will be fine. I didn’t find out I was pregnant with my daughter until I was nearly 7 weeks and we weren’t ttc (just not being very careful) and I was drinking until I found out. In fact I only found out as I thought I had the worst hangover of my life or was dying then realised I hadn’t had AF for awhile. I was worried but the doctor and midwife said it would be fine that early on

JB2021 · 06/06/2022 15:41

Thanks for the reassurance.

Spotting more so think AF is about to arrive. Knew chances were slim but doesn't stop getting hopes up.

Just need to try and get my head around ovulation tests and positives etc

@JB2021 i missed my peak last month as was overnight. Well that’s what I’m thinking as the lines were very nearly same colour at 5pm and 10am next morning then by 5pm were a lot fainter and stayed faint. I think I must have a very quick, short surge. It was my first month tracking though so I’ll see what happens this cycle

JB2021 · 06/06/2022 16:01

I tried to track last month. Knew this month my husband was away do knew we would miss peak but thought I'd try and test so I could learn.

We are hoping to try SMEP plan bug if I can't tell when peak is I'm not sure it'll work!

Do you mind me asking his old you are and if this will be your first child?

allgoodthings84 · 06/06/2022 17:17

@JB2021 I’m 37 now and have a 7 year old. I have a new partner (well not new we have been together 4.5 years) and he has no children so we would like to try to have one together

JB2021 · 06/06/2022 17:27

@allgoodthings84 I'm 36, 37 later this year. Recently married (have been married before), trying for both our first. So conscious of my age (and his, he's 41 this year).

Hoping ovulation testing works this month, if not plan is to DTD every other day, if we can fit that into our busy lives!!!

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 06/06/2022 17:36

@JB2021 I’m thinking 2-3 days around fertile time then every 3 days or so from when my AF clears off until and then again 2-3 days after suspected ovulation just in case it’s wrong or I don’t catch it etc. Doubt it will happen like that though as we are both very busy too. Can only do what we can. I hope you get your bfp very soon 😊

JB2021 · 06/06/2022 21:11

@allgoodthings84 it's quite hard work isn't it!

allgoodthings84 · 06/06/2022 21:49

@JB2021 very. I wasn’t trying for my daughter and it just happened (best thing ever to happen to me) but now things are already confusing and complicated when actually trying and planning on it

Sounds like we are on the same journey. Be lovely to keep in touch over the coming months!

Definitely and let’s hope it’s not too many months for either of us 😊

So it was my day 15 on 30 May and I also dtd, my period is due on 12 June, so I would suspect you would also need to wait until this weekend too to find out one way or another!

allgoodthings84 · 07/06/2022 12:51

@JB2021 when did you ovulate?

allgoodthings84 · 07/06/2022 12:57

You would have needed to have ovulated 30th May (small chance 29th) or later to have conceived from having sex on 30th May so you wouldn’t know yet. If you ovulated earlier than this then it will likely have been too late on 30th May to conceive
