TTC while Breastfeeding

I'm still breastfeeding DD1, who is 10 months, 5/6 times a day. (She's on solids too, but just starting to toddle, and constantly ravenous! 😅) OPKs seem to say I'm ovulating normally, but I know breastfeeding can mess with cycles... Anyone else in the same boat? Or conceived before while breastfeeding? Any tips? Or just want to share your experience? Would love some company on this rollercoaster! 🙃

Hi! I'm breastfeeding my 3 year old and have been TTC for 9 months now. So no success stories from me I'm afraid! I feed her only first thing and bedtime now, my cycles have been normal for a long time. I think sometimes luteal phase can be short when breastfeeding, do you know if yours is? Mine is 10/11 days and was the same when I was trying last time so don't think it's related, I took 9 months to conceive her too. At the moment stopping breastfeeding isn't on my radar because I don't really have any evidence that it's stopping me from conceiving, but I'll think about it if we go past a year TTC xx

I'm breastfeeding my 9 month old, and ttc. Still not had a period yet so don't think I have started ovulating again. I conceived my second while breastfeeding at 12 months but that was 11 years ago when I was obviously much younger! Am really hoping it happens soon, keep buying pregnancy tests as I'm sure I feel pregnant! Driving myself mad.

hey! I'm in the same boat, going for number 2 while feeding my 12 month old about twice a day. I've only had one period so far (currently on CD18) so i'm interested to see if they're going to be back to being regular/if I ovulated this month or if it will take some time! @daisyhrl keep me posted with how your cycle goes!

Hi there! I fell pregnant with my son while still breastfeeding my daughter. I was trying to wean her off when I fell pregnant as she was 2 1/2. Thankfully by 5 months she did stop feeding, as my boobs were very sore!

Well I didn't expect that... 11dpo today and just got a faint BFP... 😳Really hope it's a sticky one! But OMG feel very under-prepared... OH is at this moment trying to give DD1 her first ever bottle right now, because can't imagine I could keep doing full 6 feeds a day if I am actually pregnant! @Winnie87 did your supply suddenly drop at all? Well done for doing 5 months though! Gaaa head spinning over here! Really hope the same happens for you guys @tingalayo @Hatetherain @northerngal20 . Guess I've been super lucky with getting my cycles back - had my first period at 3 months (which, at the time, totally pissed me off 😅).

Aw wow congratulations fingers crossed 🤞. Nope had no issues with feeding my daughter and she was a boob monster! my supply after he was born was through the roof 😂. Managed to express 9 ounces in a session.

Hi, I am bf my 14 month old loads and TTC. I got my first period on Christmas Day (happy f'ing xmas!) when she was 8 months old.

I've had positive OPKs three days ago but not sure if I've actually ovulated. BFing through the night makes temping less accurate, my temps look like the rocky mountains and no rise so I can't confirm O. Both exhausted but I'll try to convince DP to try again tonight just in case... yawn.

Last month my period was late and we convinced ourselves I was pregnant and it was really exciting. Days of BFNs and then AF came 5 days late. It was disappointing! Made us want to try properly this month. I guess I must have just ovulated much later than I thought last month hence the late period. But that must mean I had a positive OPK and ovulated like five days after. Is that even possible? This ttc while breastfeeding is much more confusing than before! I'm hoping there are some gurus in this group who know what they're talking about because I certainly don't.
