Hey I can feel my ovulation every month but i also experience rectal shooting pain for a few minutes beside that I don’t have other concerning symptoms I don’t experience menstrual cramps or anything
Is this something to worry about? Does it affect fertility and who has the same experience?

Ooh Ouch! Yes I used to get this! Like sitting on a poker. I think it's quite common. I often had period pains there too- always put it down to the fact I have a tilted womb.

Javelin arse! Harmless but incredibly painful.

MayBeee · 03/06/2022 13:49

Javelin arse is a right pain in the bum.

I used to get this awful but after having dd2 it seems to have stopped. I mentioned it to a gp once and they seemed very un concerned about it. X

Javelin arse!

Yep I used to get this during ovulation, has also stopped for me since having my DS

@Alwayswonderedwhy , I wouldn't say it's necessarily harmless. Possible causes include rectovaginal nodules of endometriosis, or scar tissue from endometriosis that has fused the rectum and ovaries together.

ElnoraComstock · 03/06/2022 19:19

OP, probably not if you have no other history of any other gynaecological problems at all. But bear it in mind, if any other problems start.

Omg I used to get this all the time with my period! Less so since childbirth. Such an intense pain. It literally stops me dead in my tracks until it's subsided.
