Ovulation tests

Hi everyone! I'm new to this and new to ovulations tests.

I took a test yesterday morning, this morning and again this evening (I shouldn't have this evening but was hoping to see a positive reading) and all were negative/low fertility. I'm using the Clearblue Advanced Digital tests.

I track my cycle every month and apps say I should be fertile from today but the ovulation tests say otherwise. Has anyone else had this? The instructions say to use first urine after longest sleep which is what I did both times.

I will try again tomorrow anyway x

Yes I’m using clear blue advanced OPKs. New to them too and first used them last cycle.

I got 9 days of high fertility (flashing smiley) before getting a peak (solid smiley) on the night of day 17. I nearly gave up but did another test on the night due to pain which I thought could be ovulation pain. So ovulated around Day 18. My cycle was 30 days that month (although counting first day of withdrawal bleed from coming off the pill as day1)

My app said I would ovulate much sooner but everyone is different so take apps with a pinch of salt! Some people ovulate much sooner or later in their cycle than they expect and it can be different each month even with regular cycles. I’m in my 2nd cycle and this time I ovulated day 14 of my cycle so got it much sooner. I made sure I DTD before the app said I was fertile just in case and now glad I did 😁

@Dandelionn apps only go off (assume) a regular "normal" cycle. Everyone is different. Some women ovulate earlier, some later.

It's better to track ovulation using OPKs (to predict ovulation) and BBT (to actually confirm that it happened!!).

Yep, apps without OPK/bbt data assume the typical 28 day ovulation on day 14 cycle, but quite a few of us aren't like that, and there is also occasionally the odd anovulatory cycle. BBT if you can - that really is the best way of confirming.
