Conceiving after using a Mirena coil

I just wanted to share my experience of conceiving after using the Mirena coil because I spent ages searching for information when I wanted to get pregnant.

I had the Mirena coil for over 10 years (obviously it was replaced a couple of times). During that time I had no periods.

Within a month of having it taken out my cycle was back to normal (ovulating on day 12, period on day 27).
We conceived 2 and a half months after it was taken out (on the first month we properly TTC).
I had no issues in early pregnancy (apart from morning sickness) and I’ve recently given birth to a healthy baby boy.

I know that I was really worried before it was taken out that it might take ages for us to conceive, so I just wanted anyone searching for information to know that your fertility can return to normal really quickly.

Thanks for sharing, that's really encouraging! I had mine removed last week and it's great to hear positive mirena experiences!
