Had my DD1 a week after 40th birthday...

I turn 44 in August.

Trying for number 2 seems liked it's never going to happen....

Been trying in and off 7 months.

I don't take vitamins or use OPK. Wondering if I should?

Keep trying!

We tried for 10 months for this current pregnancy (currently 6w). I had DD at 40, and I'm now coming up for 42.

Good luck Flowers

We didn't use OPK - I just went by CM and the number of days since my period. We had sex every other day as soon as I'd finished my period.

You should be taking prenatal vitamins whilst TTC anyway, before getting pregnant.
And unless you just want to have sex every 2 days throughout your cycle, OPKs can help you to narrow it down to the most fertile days. You only need cheap OPK strips, they do the trick.

Currently taking Elevit vitamins

I’d be of the opinion that you don’t have any time to lose so you need to maximise your chances every month.

Ive just had my first aged 43. I won’t be going for a second but if I was I’d be looking into finding a clinic to do TSI with.

Pollywoddles · 01/06/2022 14:22

Also at this age egg quality can be a real issue so you should look into Coq10 and high dose Folic acid or preferably Methyl Folate. Get your Vitamin D levels checked too.

Trying to conceive my second nearly 2 years now.
Taking all supplements, having acupuncture and still nothing. Feeling really sad. Never thought I will be still on this journey after so long.
I hope we will get our bfp soon..

ladybuggoldfinch · 01/06/2022 23:21

@GingerFox2021 I feel the same! It's so difficult.

I’m trying for my second age 40,OP (first born age 39) Good luck to you. I’m trying to time things and taking folic acid but that’s it. Also trying to be a bit zen about the fact it may not happen. Do wish I could have met my OH 5 or so years earlier though.
@Pollywoddles Are these things you need prescription for? Are they on nhs?

Pollywoddles · 02/06/2022 04:15

@wishing3 I’m afraid I’m not in the UK but they would be prescribed in my country so perhaps.

Good luck with it. I wish I had met my OH 5 years sooner too. My LO took 4 years to conceive but she’s happy and healthy and we’re so thrilled to have her here that we’ve made our peace with not being able to give her a sibling.

Pollywoddles · 02/06/2022 04:15

Oh and you don’t necessarily need a prescription either, all available OTC
