Hello everyone,

Am hoping some of you might be able to help me with this matter.

I removed my IUD about 6 months ago and my partner and myself have been trying to conceive ever since. Ever since the IUD has been taken out, I have had very regular cycles and periods (32 day cycles 4 days of bleeding).
My period was due about 6 days ago. I didn't really get a period just a tiny bit of blood. Since then, no period. I have been testing every day and tests keeps coming back negative. Has anyone had something similar happen to then? I read the small amount of blood could be insemination. But if it is the case, why are tests still coming back negative?
Thanks for your help.

Yes, I have had this a few times, I think it’s just your body adjusting. At the most it’s been nearly three weeks late! If you’re testing negative, then it’s most likely you’re not pregnant, I think it will just take a while for your body to get back into its routine after the IUD.

Thank you for this.
Am just surprised as all my other cycles have been extremely regular. You are probably right.

I think mine were normal for a year after, then had a couple of really long cycles (don’t think I did anything different). It is annoying, also don’t dismiss how the stress of trying to conceive can affect periods (even if you don’t ‘feel’ stressed). I went to the doctor when I had a really long cycle and she said this was very common.

Thank you for your response. That is helpful to know.
How did you manage to calculate ovulation (if you did) if periods were irregular?

Have you had covid recently? That can mess with your cycles. I had a very late period having been very regular, and now I'm having 2 periods in one month.. all very wierd.

I only had a few irregular ones. In the end, I gave up on calculating, we decided to take a few months off trying, had a week off work did all the things I wasn’t supposed to (drank far too much alcohol, ate rubbish, drank loads of coffee), and got pregnant in the first week! Not that I condone it, but it was good to just relax, not worry about having sex at certain times etc.
