Late ovulation

Hello,

After a long time of trying for a bab my partner and I have finally been referred for tests.

I rarely ovulate and my cycles are very irregular (anything from 27-40 days) my doctor suggested testing for ovulation just to have a good idea of what my body is doing. And for the past three days this is what my ovulation tests have looked like. I have never had high readings like this and they’ve never lasted this long so not sure what is happening this month.

I have read though that ovulating late (which I have - cycle day 23-25) can have a detrimental affect on egg quality etc.

Does anyone have any advice?

My DD2 was a late ovulation (CD25!), which was very random, as at the time (she took 12 cycles), my usual cycle length was around 30-31 days. She’ll turn 4 in a couple of weeks time, does a good one in stubbornness and tantrums, but is very clever and has a memory like an elephant. So, in her case egg quality was just fine!

My LH has gone down to 0.4 this afternoon so hopefully i've caught the peak.

Hi @dbaby725 would I be able to see your tests from cycle day 18 to your peak? I'm on 2nd month of late ovulationon. Was cycle day 25 last month and cycle day 19 today no sign of a peak :(

@RMS0209 I think I’ve attached my tests.
It is so disheartening isn’t it when your cycle is all over the place. My doctor didn’t seem too concerned though when I said if I ever ovulate it is late in the cycle. She said this was to be expected as I have very irregular and longer cycles. Don’t lose hope as you may ovulate any day now.

I have my day 21 bloods this Friday and then I’m booked in for full, fasting bloods on the first day of whenever I have my next period. My doctor did mention clomid to me if my boyfriend’s results come back normal.

I don’t always get a peak/high reading for LH but I’m hoping that as I did this month then I have ovulated. We have DTD around ovulation too so I am hopeful this month. But I’m always hopeful when it seems that I ovulate and then AF appears and I’m devastated.

I have my day 21 bloods ready to do BUT my DR said to book it for 7 days before my period.. did you get told the same? I have heard good things about Clomid, also read alot about it on here.

@RMS0209 Yeah my doctor said day 21 bloods would typically be done 7 days before my period but as my cycle varies so much it would be harder for me to time when to have it done. So as I got my peak I’ve gone from that and booked for Friday x

@RMS0209 I still don’t have my day 21 blood results back. I’ve contacted the doctor today and apparently the results are just waiting to be checked.

Unfortunately this month wasn’t our month and cycle day 1 started on Sunday. I had my day 1-3 bloods done yesterday and already have some of those results back on my app. The ones related to fertility I’ll attach. I have no idea what they mean though as haven’t spoken to the doctor about them.

I am sorry to hear this wasn't your month, I think I'm the same I just feel like AF is ready to appear I'm 10DPO today so sending you all the luck for this new cycle.

Have you spoke about your results? They look good!

I got my results, waiting to have them emailed to me but all look "satisfactory" and ovulation confirmed for this month
The dr didn't at all seem concerned with a cycle day 25 ovulation so I need to remember that and not freak out x

@RMS0209 I haven’t heard from my doctor but these are my progesterone day 21 blood results.

all my other blood tests have come back as normal.

@dbaby725 I just meant it was great you had them, I am not to sure but I am picking up my results tomorrow so I can share them with you and we can compare and end up down a bizzare rabbit hole together? x

@dbaby725 sorry I haven't been into the dr today, I phoned him briefly but got nowhere the results from my fertility clinic weren't the greatest and I was trying to get my GP to help but didn't get anywhere...
I'm picking them up Monday I will send you them then 🙂 how are you x

I’m ok - doctor rang me today and I’ve now been booked in for my rubella vaccine as I’m showing no immunity to it and my gp said I need it for when I’m referred etc. I’m just frustrated with how long the process seems to take really. How are you? X
