early scan help please

i had a scan - abdominal scan at what i thought was 5+3 but was dated 5+5 but not really sure what i’m looking at. does anyone have any insight? it’s the pointing finger i’m confused about - what is it pointing at? is that the baby or?

and are dating scans accurate this early does anyone know?

Hi sorry not much help here but I had an early scan at 6 weeks then again at 8. I’m guessing the little hand is showing your tiny little baby. Once you hit the 12 week mark you’ll be surprised at how much the little baby has grown.

Yes, that’s your baby, where the finger is pointing 🙂. Baby tiny right now, but if you have a scan at 8+weeks, you will see the outline of the baby more clearly.

Dating scans are usually accurate within a week at this stage (so I have been told). All mine were a day or so behind or ahead of my dates. Apart from my son who was a whole week ahead the whole pregnancy.
