Does no egg white mucus mean I have conceived?

I always get the egg white mucus stuff mid cycle but this month we had sex a couple of days before I expected it and then it never came. If you conceive as soon as the egg is ready before your body produces the mucus would you therefore not get the mucus that month? Thanks

I can't say for sure as every woman is different but some months I get it and others I don't - last month none and wasn't pregnant. Sorry I'm not much help but didn't want to leave you unanswered.

i'm no expert elliel but i think that the egcm begins to appear before you actually ovulate (so that the sperm have fertile conditions to live in while they wait for the egg). so i think it's unlikely that your egcm hasn't appeared because you've ovulated and conceived already. i've also never heard of a lack of egcm being an early pregnancy symptom. you never know, though - fingers crossed for you!

if it helps, i'm in the same boat - no egcm at all this month and i usually have some by now.

Only a confirmed positive is the definitive confirmation

where are you at in your cycle, elliel? how long until you can test?

EllieL · 14/01/2008 12:38

21 days so a whole week and then some as cycle varies in length by a few days. Starting to feel a bit sick but am sure it's all in the mind. Will give up alcohol though just in case. Thank you all so much for replying.21 days so a whole week and then some as cycle varies in length by a few days. Starting to feel a bit sick but am sure it's all in the mind. I never get ewcm and have conceived twice. Not exactly the answer you want I know, but just thought I´d let you know that you don´t need it to fall pregnant iyswim. Good luck

I know it's easier said than done EllieL but try to hold on a little while longer. You'll know one way or the other soon. Fingers crossed for you!

Just in case the EGCM is something that's going to worry you in future, I read in a book (Taking Charge of Your Fertility) that Robitussin - a cough medicine - increases the quantity of EGCM you have. I'm thinking of giving it a go next cycle if AF arrives this time around, as I've been lacking in the EGCM department too.
