Evening primrose oil , no ovulation???

Started taking EPO for the first time this cycle as I've heard good things about increased CM.

Currently on CD16 & was due to O yesterday. OPKs look v v faint still so doesn't look like I'm anywhere near ovulating yet!

Has anyone else had delayed ovulation due to EPO or taken it & it's caused an anovulatory cycle???

It was supposed to help not hinder , not noticed any increased CM either 😩

I haven't as I took it for 2 days in Jan and gave myself the fear about not ovulating and stopped 😂 but bumping for you x

No idea OP, sorry, but if you fancy trying something else that doesn't seem to affect ovulation (at least, didn't affect mine in any way).....a massive glass of not-from-concentrate grapefruit juice every day from CD1 till ovulation.

Never seen egg white cervical mucus like it! 😂

I'm already drinking pomegranate juice everyday for lining if I drink grapefruit juice too I'm concerned I'll end up ODing on fruit juice haha.

This ttc malarky is such a minefield 🤯

Still haven't O'd 🤬 doesn't even look close on OPKs & PMS boobs have started ...not going to take EPO again!!

So frustrating.

Thanks for the reassurance @RMS0209 . Do yours differ quite a lot every month then? We've been ttc for 8 months now and I usually O between CD14-16 😩 x

Hello! Yeah, big difference between cycle day 14 and cycle day 24 😢 starting to bring me down a lot now. Just keep testing and dancing and it'll happen... but I know the frustrating feeling xx

Oh bless you :( how many cycles have you been ttc? Was your luteal phase the same length as normal when you o'd on day 24?

On CD18 now and still no sign. In fact my easy@home sticks are the faintest they have been today 🤦🏼‍♀️

I had a faint positive PT last cycle though & then came on a day late so not sure if that has affected it , the primrose or if it's all coincidental x

This is cycle 6 2nd attempt trying to conceive baby #1 :( what about you?
i tend to get 11 days luteal phase then I start spotting for about 2 days then AF appears. How about you?

I just hope I don't peak on CD24 again, just taking folic acid on its own this cycle to see if that helps . X

@RMS0209 they're still very negative :( CD20 now, so around 5 days later than normal. I have a feeling that it's not going to happen at all this month but this is the first time since ttc that I'm aware of this happening. It so frustrating!!!

Cycle 8 TTC #1 so a similar situation to you , what do you mean by second attempt?

I usually get a 13 day luteal phase and only 2 day of full AF a one day of spotting which I think is very short but gp thinks it's normal 🤷‍♀️ what CD are you at the mo? Fingers crossed you have a good cycle this month x

@Mariabombia very strange! but try not to panic, like I say I didnt peak until CD23/24 last cycle and ovulated on CD25 (confirmed by my ovusense)
Have you stopped the primrose or still taking it?

This is our second time trying, Its very draining isn't it!

I'm CD14 today, I haven't done my OPK yet I try to do them - 11am,4pm & 9pm (im just cautious) but I am trying to DTD every 2nd day and be optimistic.
I get about an 11 day luteal phase 2 days spotting then 5/6 days of AF so I am jealous of you! x

Hmmm the only thing I can think is I could have peaked on CD12 & 13 as I forgot to test on those days but I doubt it because that's very early & also when I've tested using the easy at home ones before they show a steady increase of LH before & decrease after. I know some people say it can happen dead quickly but I thought mine was a slow build. Mine just look v low constantly this cycle 😩

Yeah I stopped taking it around CD 14 because that's around when I usually O! That's the only thing I've changed this month except for going to more acupuncture.

Oh wow you must spend a fortune on OPKs if you test 3 times a day ! I only bothered to track it this month so I could see when to come off of the EPO as you're not meant to take it after O. Thought there was no need to generally as Ive been really regular since ttc , how wrong was I 🤦🏼‍♀️

5/6 days of AF is good! I wish mine was that long, I still don't think 2 days is enough.

Ok so looking at the charts... that's what mine was like last month! Nothing really high until I got to CD22. So don't panic!

I went for acupuncture too, and I've tried reflexology but I'm taking a break this cycle because it didn't work last cycle... silly I know 😂
But honestly how you are feeling is how I was last cycle then when I finally got a peak I was soo excited so stay strong!

What other supplements are you taking? I had the wellwoman conception his and hers and I think that's what messed me up last month!

Yes I spent a small fortune peeing on OPK's it's my hobby 😂😂 hopefully it all pays off!!

Hi @RMS0209 I'm okay today, still not O'd :( Me and DH have got an appointment with a fertility specialist next week (this was booked before this weird cycle!) so at least I can tell him about this and maybe get some general answers on why it's not happened for us yet. We've had some other tests done we are taking with us for him to see.

How are you doing? Did you peak today?

What's reflexology like? Acupuncture is so expensive isn't it 🥵 I've only started doing it this cycle when I haven't O'd so its no use really 😂 at least it's relaxing!!

Are you still taking the Wellwoman one? DH is on the man one . Lol I'm on so many-L'arginine and Vitamin E to improve lining(short period) , trying for a baby folic acid & Coq10 for egg quality. Im just taking all this from reading stuff online though so the dr might say to stop taking certain things when I speak to him on Monday 🤷‍♀️

Not sure what is going on with my cycles nowadays but I don't like it.

Reflexology is ok, I find it relaxing I often have a snooze during it.. but between that and acupuncture they are about £50 a session.. it's a lot of money for once a week 😢

No I am just taking a plain folic acid supplement and nothing else this month, I have got my partner the wild nutrition male supplements as they are supposed to be really good and I know a lady on here who's husband took them 1.5 cycles and fell pregnant... msybe just being over optimistic!

I'm not bad thank you, how are you? Still no peak this weekend for me. Honestly don't think it's going to happen for me as I sometimes get painful pms boobs straight after ovulation & this time I didn't get the ovulation but I did get the boobs 🤣

Oh no, sorry to hear that. Is the opk slowly getting darker though?? I'm sure it will happen soon if it's happened like this before.

Thank you! I will do. The nhs like you to wait a year before they refer you to a fertility specialist so im hoping the private specialist doesn't just tell us to keep trying & that's it 🫤 are you thinking of getting any tests or anything done? Or will you wait for a year as they advise?

That is a lot of money but my acupuncture is like £45 for 1 hour so at least you're getting two different treatments for a similar price! Where are you based? I won't be able to afford to keep doing it every week even though I do enjoy it.

My OPK last night was 0.64 so its not light but its not a peak yet, I haven't done one today I will do one about 11am, then 4pm then 9pm (yes I throw them around like nobodys business haha)
I just don't like why It's so late for me to get a peak the last few months.. makes this whole TTC alot harder.

Yes I did hear that for about a year.
I have a progesterone test booked with my DR for 7 days after I ovulate (whenever that will be) this month.
And the beginning of next month I have - Ultrasound scan, AMH blood test, Semen analysis and Consultation (obviously the semen analysis is for my OH not me ha ha)

Oh no sorry I meant my acupuncture is about £50 for 1 hour and the reflexology is about £45 so I switched to reflexology from acupuncture but not having much luck with either..

I'm based in Scotland, where are you? im going to Glasgow for my tests which is about 3 hrs away but worth it to put my mind at ease! xx

I was suggested to use EPO for lumps/cysts in my breasts, however they said stop immediately when you're trying to conceive. I didn't actually continue it just incase

Cycle day 19 today.. least we can be in the confused wait together :( no ovulation no peak... very confused x
