40yo trying for rainbow baby

Hey ladies.

I'm having a rough day today.
I'm 40, first ever pregnancy after 2+ years of trying ended at 9W4D. I'd had a private scan literally 2 weeks prior with a beautiful strong heartbeat and there is no rhyme or reason as to why 10 days later all they could see on the ultrasound was a sac of blood. I had to have a D&C in mid-April and I've just got my first period.

Feeling really low and sad today. I've eaten the entire contents of the cupboards but none of it helped and I can't stop the tears. I guess i'm just looking for a bit of hope on here.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I'm 35 and had a MMC after 8 months of trying which ended in a d&c. It's horrible because unless you know someone who has been through it people try and say the right things but it seldom works.

I had my d&c in July 2020 after trying for a baby since the September prior after that I was so emotional I'd all but given up but as if by some miracle I had one normal period and was pregnant again in the September my gorgeous boy is nearly one now

Trying to get pregnant is such a tough rollercoaster of a ride I had two miscarriages along the way but the end result is worth staying positive for

Wow thank you! You have been on a journey but your baby boy is a blessing worth everything! Thank you. This really brings hope to try again and trust the process.

Keep going for #2. At 35yo you still have a good amount of time both for natural and assisted conception. It is very tough but worth it, like you said. Xx

I feel for you OP. We have been trying 2years, 3mo. One conception resulting in fetal death at 11 weeks. Nothing else. It breaks my heart

Thank you hunnie I am new on here so just trying to figure it out. It looks like ladies find a lot of support on here and it would be nice because, although my hubby is really supportive, I can't go on at him daily. I know he wants to put it behind us and look ahead. I do too but it is not easy. Hearing other ladies' stories makes me feel better and not alone xxx

@Daydream please don't lose hope. It is all we have. It must be so hard for you but you will get pregnant again and you will have a beautiful rainbow baby. Believe in this. X

Thank you sugar. I feel a bit better, especially for talking here. Just been watching positive videos about pregnancy after 40 and that has been good to see. Xx
