Is anyone else in limbo with really wanting a /another baby but panicking about affording it?
we have 1 daughter age 3 already in childcare which we need to pay for for another 16 months and even when she starts school we’ll have to fund wraparound care. We’ve bought a bigger house for a 2nd child but with that comes bigger mortgage and bills.
We have some savings which is for Mat leave but I don’t think that’ll be enough as I’m the main earner quite considerably. Also with the cost of living I’m really struggling to add more than £2/300 a month to it so it won’t go up much during pregnancy and there’s nothing else we can cut back on. Shared parental leave for a few months is an option. I do really want another child but keep thinking life will be really hard to fund another Mat leave and 4 years of nursery!

@T4Opal only you and your husband can know what your earnings and outgoings are. You have to sit down and crunch the numbers. If you need to go back to work soonish then you obviously also need to be able to afford nursery fees. If not, then not. If it's not possible then maybe wait a while?
