SMEP (sperm meets egg plan)

I had a miscarriage in March and will be trying smep @ opks for the first time this cycle as I have no idea when I have ovulated since the mc my cycle has been crazy.

Getting pregnant again is all I can think about and I never thought I would be planning to this extent but then I never thought I'd have a miscarriage either.

Looking for any advice or positive experiences using this method/opks if anyone wants to share

My partner got ill do the plan went out the window! We managed it on the day of my peak opk and that's it! Oh well will have to try it next month instead

@RMS0209 time really does drag when your trying to make babies right 😩 hope you get your peak soon, mines been flashing smileys the last three days

@MooBugz I'm hoping so! Annoyingly I took the hcg shot prescribed by the consultant just before he got ill so feel like we've wasted that. Maybe it might have given us the extra boost. I took a pregnancy test today (2dpo) just to see what the hcg level was and will take one in another 4-5 days just to make sure I don't confuse it with a BFP. Really annoyed I took it now. Oh well. There's always next months if it's not happened this time!

Does a flashing smiley mean it's not quite ovulation? I've never used the clear blue ones, I always use the Tesco ones

@trinity198 yea the flashing smiley is high fertility so hoping park isn't too far although I've heard some people can get them for around 10days 🙈 still a good sign so sticking to the plan so far!

Is the shot something you can get every month? I take it your hpt will show a positive because of it for now and you'll retest in a week to see if it's changed?

I think the consultant just gave it as a one off because usually it's given to people who don't ovulate but I seem to ovulate fine on my own. I think he just gave it me as a why not try for a bit of extra luck. Yeah the tests are apparently positive for about 10 days. I took the shot last Thursday so should be negative this weekend unless pregnant. Bit frustrating really that I'll be in limbo for a while

CD16 but getting closer lol that's me on 6th day of flashing smileys. That's what the FS on the tests stand for but I guess alternative meaning for FS works too 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️

Hi all, got my peak cd17, the way it worked was bd cd16 then the three days so it was 4 days in a row! Yday was a break then today is the "good luck" bd and then the waiting game truly begins..

@MooBugz glad to hear you finally got your peak. Sounds like you covered all bases! Keep us posted later on the tww. I'm 10dpo today and test was negative but my partner was ill so we only bd once in the fertile period 🙄 will try again next month

Yes @Tashyb123 pleased to say bite as my first time trying it and got my bfp this week. It was my first cycle of SMEP but 3rd since mc. Good luck 😉
