Hi all,

My cycle is usually 28 days regular, the rare occasion 29. Today is CD17 and I'm just getting my high OPKs now, it's my first month tracking with them and also BBT. My temp dropped down today and OPKs rising, however AF is due in 11 days. If I ovulate tomorrow which I suspect I will as looks like I'll get peak tonight, then it's only 10 days till AF. Does anyone else have cycles like this too? When would be best to test in this case, when AF is due or wait until it is missed? Pic of my OPK from lunchtime just now.

If you ovulate late, AF will almost certainly be late. So, when I was TTC DD2 I ovulated around CD25, and then got my BFP at 10DPO (CD35). Most previous cycles had been around the 30/31 day mark…

Thank you, I just didn't know what to expect as last month I didn't track but AF came slap bang CD28 and I suspect I ovulated around CD15/16 but didn't track it. Guess I'll wait and see!

So, to actually answer your question, regardless of previous cycles AF will be due around 12-14 days after you ovulate (or whatever your LP length is normally). That’s what you need to count to, not assume you are due on CD28 because that’s what you cycle is usually.
