Hi all just looking for a little advice. We have been TTC baby no2 for 4 months now. With my DD we did no planning whatsoever and after the first month of “trying” we had our BFP.
This time round we are struggling. My cycle is usually 35-36 days and for the past 3 cycles I have had positive OPKs on CD23. My husband and I have tried to schedule sex every day five days before day 23 and the day after but so far no BFP.
Anyway this month I had watery CM on CD 18 up until today CD 23. I have been taking OPKs since CD 14 and all were negative apart from one kind of positive at 2pm CD 19. It was an internet cheapy so I rushed to the supermarket and bought some more and did another one 3 hours later and it was negative. Last months cycle my positives lasted over 24 hours….
anyway today is CD23 and I’m still testing negative… CM is still watery.
Its also worth adding that after I have ovulated my boobs get really sore until AF and as of yet they are sore one bit. I will upload pic of possible positive OPK. But any advice would be much appreciated.

It could be a number of things really.

Some surges don't last as long and can vary cycle to cycle, as well as woman to woman.

I have cycles where I get a blazing positive but then it goes again after a few hours.

Some cycles, I never see the blazing positive and only get a line that is equal to the control line. I assume I missed it. Urine can also be more dilute at different times.

I temp to confirm ovulation though so that gives me peace of mind (although I should add I'm not actively TTC at the moment, just getting to know my body!).

Also, different brands of test strips differ as well. Looks like you are using OneStep tests? I used to use those and they were awful to read, and couldn't see the progression. I recommend easy at home test strips.

I meant to add as well that sometimes your body can gear up to ovulate but then can't quite manage it, so it will gear up again shortly. Keep testing if you're worried you haven't ovulated just yet.

Good luck!

Thank you for the reply. Yes the one strips were just off Amazon. The ones I rushed out to get were first response ones and they were negative when tested just 3 hours later.

maybe I did ovulate sooner but like I said I do get really sore boobs once I’ve ovulated and this time I haven’t and CM is still watery so I’m just concerned that maybe I haven’t yet ovulated and I really don’t want to miss the window..: but its just stressful and really exhausting for both me and my partner… the fun just seems to disappear every time this fertile window opens…and sex is a huge chore!

Try temping to get confirmation of ovulation!

I don’t think I understand the temping? X

@KateGi Temping is really straightforward. I have been doing it for nearly a year now.

You need a BBT (basal body temperature) thermometer as they are accurate to 2 decimal places.

And just take your temperature as soon as you wake up every morning, ideally at the same time.

Pre-ovulation, your temp will normally be less than 36.4. After you have ovulated, your temp should rise up much higher and remain high until your period when it drops again.

It's actually really interesting. I love temping as I know that when my temp tales a drastic drop in the morning it means my period will start later that day.

I can imagine it could potentially be an extra stressor though. I'm not actively TTC so I'm okay with doing it, don't know if it might drive me a bit crazy though if I was TTC for a long time.
