Confused by clear blue

Was due my period yesterday, took a clear blue normal test today (not fmu because I'm late), it was faintly positive. Did a cb digital after, it said not pregnant.
Waited 5 hours before peeing again, and got this on a normal clear blue. Am I pregnant? I can't believe the digital test has caused me so much confusion!

Certainly looks positive!

Salutatorydrinks · 08/05/2022 03:48

I don't know, I'm sorry!

Ask I know is that wretched clear blue digital gave me a false positive and I spent right hours at a and e to get a blood test.

Salutatorydrinks · 08/05/2022 03:48

Eight

lemonsugar125 · 08/05/2022 03:58

Thats positive!
The clear blue digital tests are not always as effective, so i've heard.
Maybe buy a different brand of test and retest in a couple of days but I would say thats a positive test for sure!

At the point you miss your period (or even a couple of days before actually) it's wrong to think that digitals aren't that sensitive. They are. Not much higher than many dye tests actually. If you are at least 14 DPO and you have missed your period then you should be getting a positive digital in a viable pregnancy. So I'd be inclined to think this may be a possible chemical OP sorry x

Thanks all!
Sorry that happened to you @Salutatorydrinks :(
@doingitforthegirls I really hope it's not:( but understand what you're saying. Leaflet of the non digital and digital cb tests say they're the same sensitivity so I would've thought the digital would have shown it. I've spoken to a few people that took 3 or 4 days after having a normal positive test, before getting a positive digital though. So I'm not sure.

I've done a cheap tesco one this morning with fmu and that's faint, but darker than the tesco one I did yesterday. This photo has had nothing done to it and the light isn't on in that room either.

I have FRERs arriving today that I ordered yesterday as I wanted some pink dye ones, but I will save them for fmu another day.

Im sorry OP but my experience of dye tests and digitals that give different results, are pregnancies that didn't progress. Obviously everyone is different and my experience may not be yours. Wishing you luck x

Daisy2206 · 08/05/2022 10:50

@user1237 thank you. I am hopeful as I have been feeling quite sick today 🤞 and my tesco test was definitely darker today.. but we will see

Hi OP,

My last pregnancy was slow to progress after bfp on FRER and CB early. Eventually got BFP on digital several days after first bfps. Unfortunately we lost it at 5 weeks.

This time got bfp at 8DPO and confirmed by digi at 10DPO (with the weeks one).

I'm not sure if there's any correlation between progression and loss or whether each pregnancy and person just moves at a different rate.

Also should note there are a couple different digital variants with different sensitivities.

Good luck and baby dust.
