Home insemination leakage

Hi guys,
This is my first thread on here so a little nervous but it has been a very comforting place on quite a lonely TTC journey!
I am currently on cycle 5 of home insemination but literally everything leaks out straight away which is really disheartening. Am I doing something wrong?
Has this happened to anyone else who has then gone on to get BFP? X

Why have you started 3 threads about this?

Hp345 · 07/05/2022 19:45

Sorry, still new to it all and didn't know how to start a new thread. Replied to a previous thread but realised it was an old thread!

What equipment are you using, do you lie down when you insert the syringe, stay lying down afterwards, push it in far enough. It will leak out like it does when yoj have sex.

Posted this over on your post on the pregnancy board but better here, sorry I didn't see you had a thread here. Best to keep it over here on conception.

@Hp345 I just lay on my back with bum propped up, legs in the air as you do 😅Inserted the 5ml syringe, plunged slowly, had an orgasm, slipped in a softcup and lay there for a bit.

But I mean, that was probably all overkill - think about the woman being on top during sex....conception also occurs even if gravity is against it!

I use a home insemination kit that I brought online and insert as far as I can and alowly push plunger. I lie down for 20 mins after and have even tried pillows to prop my hips up. Yet can feel it dripping out from back. Sorry for the tmi. Have bloods booked for next week to see if everything is fine that end.

Thank you @Regenbogen22
Wow, that is some procedure. I have brought a fertilily so might try that too. Did you experience leakage too?
I have read online that its completely normal and the sperm are separate but cant help but feel disheartened when it comes out more or less straight away. Doesn't leave them with much chance!

The fertilily is your best bet. I would pop it in and then go about my day and it kept everything up there. It really takes some practice though to use it correctly!

SheWoreYellow · 07/05/2022 19:59

I think that’s normal. You’ve heard of the wet patch?! Well people still manage to get pregnant despite that.

BlanketsBanned · 07/05/2022 20:05

Do you leave the syringe in for a bit afterwards, it does leak out, where do you think it goes, what size syringe are you using.

Regenbogen22 · 07/05/2022 20:07

I didn't experience any leakage when I used the softcups/softdiscs, but as @SheWoreYellow says, it's perfectly normal after sex for fluid to leak out.

I also tried the Fertililly but found it so fiddly, gave up on that quickly 😂
